Been away for a while
Hi All
I've not been on the Forum for some time now, so I thought it would be good to make contact with all my good friends on here.
The winter covers have been on for some time, and are doing a good job in keeping the temperatures from falling too suddenly due to wind-chill.
Hope all is well with you all,
Bryan

Hi Bryan. So pleased you are well. I ve not been on here quite as much myself. Been busy walking my daughters dogs among other things. Been on the dog rescue website a lot too. Covers are also on my pond too, and Koi seem happy enough. xx

Thanks for all the kind messages. I'm pleased to report that all is still well with our Koi up till now in the New Year.
In December 2014 we had a trichodina attach, which came as an unwelcome and unexpected surprise. Thankfully they've been all clear so far this winter.
Our pond temperature has still not gone below 10 degrees, the koi are active and feeding at least once a day. Being unheated I'm feeding about an average of 3 x 20gm scoops per day . The mix I'm using at the moment is 70% Medikoi wheat germ with garlic, and 30% Medikoi Probiotic.
It would be interesting to know what others use to feed in winter months, whether heated, and roughly how much fed per day.
Best Wishes to all,
Bryan.

Running heater at low temp?
Covering the pond with polycarb should be enough to stop water temps dipping below 6C for the most...
