It wasn't a dig at you as he used to say it as a joke then one day he said it in front of the boss who replied something like - that's not the right attitude - and his answer to that was - well it's the only one I've got LOL
But on a serious note you've got to try to make the best of what you have got and see how you get on. Eazy Pods are good but they do struggle with fines so you may want to try to add something else to deal with them. When I asked the question a while back the easiest answer was to add a filter sock to the outlet and make a bit of an overflow in case the sock blocks and then causes the Eazy Pod to flood.
Are you pump feeding the Pod or gravity feeding it? As pump fed is more difficult to add anything after the Pod where as gravity fed is easier as you are pumping the water back into the pond so adding another filter to catch the fines is easier to do. Hope that makes sense?

They were good for small wildlife of goldfish ponds but they take so much looking after compared to an Eazy Pod.
Another option for catching the fines is add some Jap Matting on top of the K1 in the Pod. Some of us have the modification disc in the top of the Pod to hold the K1 down but personally I wouldn't replace mine although it does seem to work as it's too much trouble to completely remove if you want to give the K1 a really good stir up during a cleaning cycle plus I don't like the guy that makes and sells them. For what the discs are they are quite expensive and there is definitely room for improvement on them. The guy asked for suggestions but never bothered to even reply to me when I suggested a couple of obvious and easily sorted improvements, so I thought stuff you then if that's your attitude.

I'm currently pump feeding the Pod in my main pond and will be gravity feeding the one in my QT if I can ever get it sorted out.
Gravity fed is better as the muck that goes into the filters hasn't been liquidised by your pump so there is more of it to catch and not so much small stuff that gets through your filters.

I've not tried it myself but from what I was told you have to put it on top of your K1 so it does 2 things if you can get enough of the matting to push the K1 down enough. Firstly if the K1 is compressed there will have less room for the muck to get through and escape back into the pond before getting trapped in the K1 and secondly the jap matting acts as a filter itself so will catch the some of the muck too.
Not sure if you can get one big enough (may have to get the tape measure out and make some accurate measurements) but one of the biggest round sponges from something like a Bio Force filter may fit it the top of the Eazy Pod on top of the K1 and do the same job as the jap matting. If they fit they are easy to get from ebay, amazon or most garden centres that sell pond stuff. They are easy to cut and from memory before they get dirty they are about 2" to 3" deep 50mm to 75mm in new money You'd probably want foams from a 9000 or 12000 bio force and not the newer revolution ones as they just have small cubes of sponges which aren't going to be any good for you. I know a 9000 exists just not sure if that's the biggest so maybe work a look online after you have got your measurements.

Just found some measurements for a 12000 bio force foam and it is only 32cm diameter. The media section of the Pod is 38cm at the top so even allowing for the sides to come in a bit as they go down I don't think it will be enough to cover the 6cm difference? Maybe worth a look on ebay as I am sure you can get filter foam in a big enough square so you can cut it down to the correct size and make it a nice tight fit so It wedges itself in place?

Great find Andi I spent ages looking for large bio force filters only to find they were too small
Looks like the Google Experts has done it again
BTW Hugo don't go looking for second hand ones of these as you never know what they may have been used to sweep up LOL
15" may not need much cutting down if any as 38 cm is 14.9" just need to check the centre hole diameter as that may need widening?

Yeah exactly, question off topic have you ever used NT labs koivits? Because I believe some of the koi have carp pox and searched up and even though there no sort of medication I've read that it helps them get back to a healthy state
