Profi Drum V Aquadrum
Hi all,
I am planning on upgrading my 5000 gallon pond filtration system, but like many others I am struggling with the best option.
I plan to either purchase a Profi 50 Combi or Aqua Drum 55, both Darren and Dave have been great with advice, both systems seem to have many positives. I have noted some keepers mentioning noise levels, this would cause issues for my neighbours! Is this a consideration?
After the Drum I was considering leaving my Bubblebead and adding a shower any thoughts?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Just throwing my thoughts in but have you looked into the Aqua Source Synergy Combi range ?

I have the Aqua Combi 55, it doesn't really make any significant noise to speak of. Not that I can hear outside the filter house anyway.
When I am inside the filter house I can hear a whooshing noise as it goes through a cleaning cycle, but would be struggling to know when this is happening when I am not in there. Unless you're planning to site your drum outside I wouldn't be worried about this.
If you go for a shower then that will make much more noise.
I've stuck my shower inside the filter house too, so my pond is pretty silent. The only thing I can hear in the garden is a very very slight low hum from an air pump and the fan of the ASHP when it is going (because that has to be sited outside).
If you do fit an ASHP then I would be careful what direction you face it with respect to neighbours. The further from the houses the better and the sound seems to be a bit directional.2016 new 6000 gallon pond
