How do i install a cetus sieve on an easypod

    Hi

Currently using an easy pod with a 4 inch feed in from the gravity fed bottom drain then pumped out through 11/2 inch pipe back to the pond

I want to install an evolution aqua cetus sieve before the easy pod as additional mechanical filtration, having studied the install manual I am left with a few questions I would like answers to please

The diagrams for a gravity fed system show a 4 inch bottom feed into the sieve with an 11/2 inch PUMPED outlet to the easy pod, it then shows the outlet from the easypod back to the pond as a 11/2 inch outlet also pumped

does this mean I need 2 pumps on this set up 1 from the sieve to the easypod and 1 from the easypod to the pond both 1/1/2 inch

Also where does the water level have to be set, as my pond is Above ground do the sieve and the easypod have to be set at the same level as the pond.

If I do need 2 pumps do they both have to be set at the same rate of flow so that one does not clear water faster than the other or can I just gravity feed from the sieve to the easy pod and then pump from the easypod to the pond, and if so what diameter pipe work from the sieve to the easypod.

    Any help would be appreciated

The image shows both systems could work independently if one pump failed

Is it not possible to run the sieve gravity fed with a pump pumping to the eazypod which is raised so outlet is higher than water level and so have a gravity return?

    Hi

Can i not gravity feed the sieve with 4 inch pipe from bottom drain. then exit sieve with gravity feed into easy pod using 4 inch pipe,. then exit easy pod with 11/2 inch pumped return to pond.

The water level of the sieve and easypod being maintained at the same level as the raised pond

If you decide to do it like that the level of the easypod would need to be far below the pond water level and line up with the level of the collection chamber of the sieve (hard) as to not let the entire sieve fill up. This is very risky as if the pump stops or doesn't match the flowspeed exactly the easypod will overflow.
    So short answer is no

I would say the best way is to run both at pond level with two pumps as shown or run it on one pump with the easypod raised

hi mate. the best way is with the balance line with the two pumps one after the sieve and one after the nexus or easypod.
here is your water hight with pond water hight, also not mentioned is that one pump has to run faster then the other one on a balance line. if I remember right I had a 14000l pump on the nexus return
and a 12000L pump after the sieve. plus you need ball valves to control things. unless you buy variable pumps and control on pump speed. hope this helps

    GRAVITY FED INSTALLATION
PLEASE NOTE: When installing your pump on a gravity fed system, the pump must
be installed lower than the level of the outlet to prevent airlocks within the pump.
Also if there is any chance of back siphoning, a one way valve must be installed after
the pump to prevent the Cetus Sieve filling with water.
With gravity fed installations, the Cetus Sieve needs to be installed so that the
maximum water level in the Cetus Sieve is the same height as the maximum water
level in the pond. To do this, the top of the Cetus Sieve needs to be installed 20mm
above the pond water level as shown in figure 10a below

Hi, I am not much of an expert but found this information which might be of help, if you look at page 10 it shows the Sieve connected in line with a Nexus.
