Pipe work and Pipe sizes
I’m in the middle on my 7000 gallon Pond. I’m trying to work out what pipe sizes I should be using from and to each filter.
So.. I have 2 Bottom Drains with 4 inch pipe work and a slimmer 2 inch pipe work leading to a Synergy 55 Drum, all gravity fed.
Ifrom there it’ll be gravity fed from the Drum to my Moving Bed filter (350 litres of K1 micro) and again I’ll use 2 x 4 inch pipes.
This is where I’m not sure of pipework.
From the MB filter it’ll be pumped up into a static bed filter filled with Alphagrog.
I’m not sure what size pipe I’ll need here.
It’ll slowly flow through the Alphagrog,
then it’ll be gravity fed into a Bakki shower.
Again I’m not sure what pipework I’ll need from my static bed filter into the shower?
Please if u have any advice please let me know.
And thank you for your time
John

I se a bit of a contradiction there unless I’m reading your post wrong?
Typically a Bakki shower would require water to be pumped over it at a high flow rate but you somehow gravity feeding it via a slow moving static bed?
Personally, on your setup I’d go
Drum - MB - SB - pond
Drum - Shower - pond
Ie, 2 circuits. In fact, I’d be tempted to have 3 and put them all on separate lines but that’s 3 pumps.
You don’t say how big your shower is. Would it be large enough warrant a 4” pipe for example? If not, then everything out of the MB and the shower feed Id do in 2” and use pumps with 2” inlets and outlets.
That’s a fair size pond so you’d be shifting a decent amount of water.

Bigcarpchaser. I think your right. I’m going to go
Pond - drum - MB - SB - pump - shower.
I’ll use two inch pipe from SB to shower.
Thanks very much!

Pipe work and Pipe sizes
Hhmmmm...how much water do you intend putting over your shower then?
How are you going to get any water circulation in your pond? You won’t get much from a shower on its own.

I’d be looking to get as close as possible to the 7000 gallons
I have two aerated bottoms drains and the shower will be waterfall fed back into the pond
