Hi Lee,
Will measure mine tonight but it's not a lot.
I had to add another course of blocks as filter pit lid was already touching the Nexus, but the Draco only just comes above the mortar applied for the additionall row of blocks.

You have plenty of room mate.
Highest point of the drum is 9cm above the main Nexus frame but only 3cm above the highest point of the Nexus (the angled bit above the outlet with the EA branding).

My water is finally crystal clear today and looks so much more polished.
Emailed Draco about the packaging and the issues with the rubber bung. (Forgot to mention the footprints over the instructions).
Got a fast reply saying the normal packaging no longer fits due to the redesigned control terminal box, but that the way I received it needs sorting out and they'll look into improving packaging immediately.
Also said they've had no complaints about the rubber bung not sealing in the last 3 years, but the drain hole is not in the same position on every Nexus which probably explains my difficulties. There are 3 common drain hole positions and their kit aims to have enough adjustment to cater for all 3 as much as possible, but it may not cater for every possible position. They'll recommend the user try my method if they get a similar report.

Lee,
I also have it on good authority that the Draco will be offered with 10% discount for one day only on the Cuttlebrook open day in September.
If you ring Sam at Cuttlebrook and ask if you can pre-order for the open day I'm sure they'll sort something out.
Anyone else reading.... Please don't go shouting this from the roof tops!
And don't quote this post as I'm going to delete it

Thanks Scamp, and your help and others throughout this thread has been so valuable, really appreciate it.
Water looks fantastic, nitrites are up but instructions said that would happen even though I didn't really believe it.
Picked up some great ideas on this thread, glad I started it now.
Can't take it away from the Nexus, it is great for 7000 litres, ok for 12,000 litres in winter, but in summer it isn't adequate for 12,000 litres and 12 Koi.
Tried pulling 20k lph (less head loss) through the Draco (hottest week of the year, heavy feeding etc), cleaning itself every 2-3 minutes and coped well, so its a bit future proofed if I ever extend pond just a little bit more .

I spent all day just watching my drum yesterday. in between sitting by the pond with a a beer and my old faithfull patch.
I cleaned the drum and centre part of nexus and started to annalise the washes and the where the crap is going. so I stuffed the fish with lots of feeds and grub. on and off all day.
I found that when my jet wash was cleaning it was putting half of the crap in the tray and half on the first lip of the tray. so in other words it was nt all going down the waste pipe. I think this is maybe my fault as last time I took the nozzles off I may have put them on the wrong way around clip wise. so I changed them around. at the same time cleaning nozzles out. there was a little lime scale in the seating of the seals so cleaned these out.
when turned back on I noticed right away the wash was dead centre of the waste tray. left it all night. had a look and not a bit of crap on the lip of waste tray. and up to now just a couple of fines in the centre chamber.
so I will now watch it for a while. and see if I have to pull the draco out

Had my drum out this afternoon. Couple of nuts needed tightening to spanner tightness
Also gave it a good pressure wash inside and out.
Quite a lot of bio growth inside tray and inside drum. And cleaned all the crap of inside the mesh.
Normally pressure just the outside of mesh.
See what happens now.

Not now lol. Spotless. I actually thing the turning of the nozzle s has worked. Hardly anything in the centre chamber now.
As in fines. Most now heading down the waste drain pipe.
I took the nozzle s off in spring. Part of my
Spring clean after winter. And it looks like I put them back the wrong way lol. Must of been pissed.
I will now have to put my drum clean down as yearly now. With pressure gun. For a good old blast out. I was amazed at the growth on the other parts of the drum
And not the mesh where it can't get a blast out.
Even the moving parts was covered in lava
Fly.
3 1/2 years is a long time for growth. And bad nasties to develop.
Another learning curve

Final update - 10 days post Draco installation.
Nitrite spike (peaked at 2 mg/l) has now all but gone, lying between 0 and 0.1
Drum is cleaning itself every 10-20 minutes during the day and maxing out at 60 mins between cleans at night - happy with that for peak of summer.
Sent one final cheeky email to EA. Told them I got an expert opinion (that was you guys really) on the problem and was told it was obvious from my pond the Nexus is incapable of its claimed capabilities and that experts recommended I install a Draco. Emailed them the before and after pics below and then asked why they hadn't ever thought of going into partnership with a Drum manufacturer and then their Nexus claims would actually be true....
I got no reply
So, here's the final picture update....
