Give it time to catch up and the wash times will get better - especially now your water level is where it should be

That's it mate play with your float level and it will be fine.
At the moment mine cleans roughly every 1/2 hr on a no 1 wash.John

Sorry late in reply. Just seen this. Been on the drink.all weekend.Glad to hear your levels are now ok
On my water level I had to raise the ponds level by glueing a 3 inch pipe inside my skimmer hole. So I could raise water levels.
Also your design is completely different to my nexus 320 draco.
My waste tray is inside the drum. And my waste goes down a exit y boot pipe. Theres a hole in the side of the tray.
No tray on outside of the draco. So completely different.
When I put my waste pipe into exit nexus waste hole I give it a good whack with the palm of my hand to seal.
If I want more washes I raise senser. If I want less washes I lower the senser.
The design has changed since my draco was bought. No outside tray.
Heres a photo mate. Then you will understand it more. That's my waste pipe.

Thanks Fred, see what you mean.
I could actually lower my Nexus if need be as I built the pit to allow for Nexus height adjustment, but I'm happy with everything now. If I lowered Nexus and the pump stopped it would overflow.
Like I mentioned above, think there was so much muck in the pond the drum was getting clogged immediately after cleaning, 1 minute between cleans, so water level was always low.
This morning it's 22 minutes between cleans and everything looks perfect

After 22 mins between cleans this morning it was down to 8 mins between cleans late afternoon. Just goes to show how much more waste there is during the day. You guys probably already know all that anyway!
But the odd thing is that water level was at the top of the waste tray tonight, almost overflowing.
Even when I turned pump on full chat, 20k lph the water level only dropped to the middle of the waste tray.
Must somehow be related to the amount of muck in the water at first. Pond is much clearer now and water looks more polished. Another 24 hours and it will hopefully be perfect.

Get in there. Sounds good. Perfect water.
I trickle in and out. So I have water trickling
Permanently down my waste shoot pipe.
But like I say my tray waste is different to your waste setup.
A lot depends how much you feed them that speeds the cleans up. On drum
When high feeding like summer time. I have my cycle set on number 3.
In winter on number 2.
Have you back flushed your bottom drain
Since having the drum fitted.
I just leave it cleaning while nexus fills back to levels.
Nice one RS. Already looks like money well spent mate.

Probably already been mentioned but an easy way to set up an overflow/help control water height is to drill a hole in the side of the waste tray on the Draco (mine was done so the bottom of the hole was where I wanted my max water height, and I used a 10mm drill, worked pretty well too!
Not sure how much I was trickling in, was almost a fast drip, deffo not what you see if you go to absolute where it kinda looks like he’s got taps running

Some great tips there, thank you both.
Love the idea of drilling a hole, not practical at the moment until I set up a proper waste system for watering the garden, but would save loads of time.
Drum was 42 minutes between cleans this morning, well happy, .
Half the koi didn't come up for food this morning, not sure if drum has changed parameters or its it's because I feed too much last night. Can't do anything till I get home from work, but Draco instructions do mention nitrite spike.

42 mins on heavy feeding!, you’re doing well there!! Mine was generally around 25+\- 5 mins when feeding, but would go well over an hour in winter when the feed stopped!
Oh yeah - one thing, you might well find (autumn/winter time) that your display on your drum will display weird or illegible symbols instead of the normal “35” say, it ain’t broke (I saw E3 on mine and thought it was an error code), according to Tony it’s just that the drum doesn’t know what to display if your cleaning cycle goes past 99mins!!
Might be worth keeping in mind as it might make you think you have a busted drum (as I did!)

Keep the tips coming fellas... So helpful and appreciated, thank you.
I've been measuring the amount of water going to waste and last night was far less then yesterday, but still a surprising 50 litres (on meter).
Pond needs a water change, normally do it through the Nexus waste valve but can't now so have bought a Nexus waste kit so I can drain water via the bio section... Up until I have the confidence to drill a hole in the waste tray for trickling.
Would really rather not be at work this week... So much to do on the pond and with the fry, and definitely overdue checking parameters. Missus is starting to complain I spend no time with her. She's got a point .
Trying to explain I'll spend more time with her once drum has settled... But you know what it's like, another mini project comes along

Thanks Fred, that's exactly how I want mine, but no drains for 80 feet, so the pipe will go into Macerator with float switch then througha pipe to water the garden, which I'm doing manually at the moment but plan to install pipe work with holes drilled all round the perimeter of the garden so plants are constantly watered.
I get a water bill rebate for not sending waste down the drain, only a small amount but it covers one month's water bill each year.

Plan to email Tony with that suggestion and mention the poor packaging.
I think the bung that comes with the drum is a bit too risky, if it moved you could end up draining half the pond.
Also from videos I've noticed Nexus drain holes aren't always in the same place, hence the waste pipe angle being an awkward fit.

What size rubber boot did you fit in the waste hole RS. And was it just a straight
Coupler rubber boot. Reason I am asking
I am thinking of taking my drum out.
For maintenance. I have spotted fines in the centre
Chamber. Not a lot. But needs investigation. And I think the 10 bolts need tightening around the big red seal. At least I am hoping that's all it is.
Other wise I have a big big problem. New seal. Or new drum. As I am shite at DIY.
So fingers crossed.
So thought seeing it's out. Modify it.
Great fix as scamp says.
