Finally viewed them after a hectic Sunday!!
I took from the videos that as long as I set the bio just above the max water level on the drum I should be ok. Is that right?
Thanks again mate,really appreciated.

Just a thought if you get a combi unit and the bio side isn't enough then could plumb another bio chamber behind it, then the combi unit would control levels through out on gravity system. Also get drum or combi unit where control panel has facility for return water pumps to plug into so if problem with drum pump/s shut off save emptying bio and pond overflowing pls learn from my experience F----ing Snails !!!!!!!!

So, if you had a choice everyone, would it be drum and separate bio chamber or a drum Combi?
Im in two minds now what to do!

So, quite unanimous for separate drum and bio!
Next question, QK35 or Synergy 35 drum?
Or any other recommendations?

Mines the Synergy.
I think the new version does a few whizzy things more than mine.

i run 2 drums but mine were one of the first to come into the uk,they are KC-10's,they were cheap second hand, think i paid £650 in total for the 2,they do work well and i like the fact they self flush so no muck left sat in a filter until i clean it,i alparex'd my pond the other week then pp'd and after switching drums back on it took 24hrs and my water looked clear enough to see the other side of pond 3m away through window,my only issue with mine is the flow,im running 2 X 20k pumps but can only run them at about 70% or it empties drums, you wont have that issue with the synergy as it will cope with 35k liters,so probably 2 X 20k pumps on full chat with head/pipe loss lol,,,,andi

Not really. I’m playing with the level sensor at the moment to try and work out the optimum setting.
Apart from that it’s all good. Does what it says on the tin. There’s not really a lot to go wrong.
I’d like to put some kind of switch on it to turn the UV off when the kid is open (I put an amalgam in the dirty side)
I’m unclear if I plug it into the drum controller if that would work.
Not sure if the new ones have this facility.
