    CL 3 filter help

Hi I have a cloverleaf cl3 filter gravity fed but I have the pump sucking the water out of the bottom drain and mushing all the waste. Then pushes the water through the filter then back to the pond but I think this is wrongly done. Need help to make it right. What way should the pump be installed on the higher pipe or the lower 4 inch pipe? Think I have the water going the wrong way round

Gravity fed means water flows by gravity into filter the the pump is after the filter pushing back to pond.so should be 4" pipe into filter then probably 4" reduced to 1 1/2" onto pump.then probably 1 1/2" back to pond ....andi

No on a gravity fed system the water level in your filter needs to match the water level in your pond.

The lower is your intake with the higher being the return. Tried to find an image. The water should overflow down the return.

If you Google installing cloverleaf cl3 filter there is still a PDF available that describes gravity and pump fed installations.

Not a problem hope you can get it all sorted. Nothing better than having a day playing with filters and then it all comes together.

    Good luck
