Normal K1 in a bead filter

    Hi

Has anyone used K1 (not micro) in a bead filter, reason is I am about to swap things about and put a bead filter after a sieve on my skimmer. At the moment the K1 is in my Nexus and been in use for years so its good and mature so seems a shame to not use it.

I can't see why it would not work EA use a micro K1 in the filter they sell.

    Andy

I have sent it up but not ran it yet as I thought along the same lines as you, I just swapped the outlet filters from bottom to top of unit to get clearer water out, I hope anyway

When you say you swapped the "outlet filters from bottom to top" do you mean you had a sand filter that flows down and you reversed it inside ?

Are you going to fit a blower ? beads need it but does K1 ? I dunno

Yes that's it it's a Lacron filter , It will need some sort of blower to agitate the k1 when it gets dirty unless the reversed water would do it but think would use alot of water without a blower or air stone
