Elecro 3kw heater
Hi Guys,
I need some help.
I havery two old elecro 3kw heaters, but one of them has an issue.
Does anyone know someone who can repair them?
The heater has two lights on it, one is a yellow ready light, meaning the unit is on but not heating, and the other is a red heating light, meaning the unit is heating (the yellow light is off when the red light is on)
This particular heater will start to heat (red light on) after it has been turned on, but stops at some point and returns to ready (yellow light on).
I assumed it was a flow problem so have moved the water pump through all of its 10 flow rates, and nothing changes.
So next on my list was a flow switch issue, so as these are crazy expensive to buy, I wanted to make sure it was this before I bought a new one, so I simply jumped the wires to mimic the switch being on. This again switched the heater to heat (red light on) but this again stopped at some point. So this ruled out the flow switch.
So I've reached the limit of my imagination and now need to recruit someone who actually knows what they are doing. This is where you gorgeous people come in.
Thanks in advance,
Jay

I wouldn’t have thought a faulty heating element would cause this, so my guess is the thermostat. I assume you have the “set” temperature set to something considerably higher than the current temperature? If so, then have you checked the temperature it is reading?

SOrry to jump on your thread mate
. I've got a old old 3kw that's doing the same thinking thermostat. Emailed company and they said they couldn't fit it as to old . Dose any one know if you could retro fit a aftermarket therm on these ?

Only other thing I can think of is heating element protection. Is it possible there is too much crud build up around the heating element, or possibly excess line scale?
