On the smaller pieces there were about 52 individual pieces in each box , but I can't remember on the larger size. I think I have about 12 pieces in each tray so about 18 in a box?.. As I had 2 boxes of each size
Picture below shows the top tray but I did break the smaller ones up a bit.

Wow Mike, love the pond that is awesome mate, credit to you.
Thanks for the info,I sent them an email and they said there are 54 of the small ones but in the infrared there are 80 as they are lighter but more expensive.
So Mike do you think the small ones are a good buy?John

Hi John,
i think it looks a good choice, although I would probably just buy the small diameter ones if I were to buy again. Time will tell if they are effective, it's Ben just under a week so no real change yet in water parameters. Are they better than grog? I don't know, but they look the part!!!
are the extra 26 items of the infra red worth th extra 20 euros??? Maybe. I'm guessing it's all about surface area both external and internal so the more the better!

what is your set up before the shower? i am trying to add more bio to my sieve, bead and UV and it seems the shower might be the best way? my returns are split into mid level returns and currently into a top pond but i could add a shower which spills into the top pond and then from top pond into the pond as it current does. need to increase the bio to get on top of the levels but limited for space around the pond

I have a 4" bottom drain going to a nexus 200 with Draco and that feeds via the ashp and then UV back to mid water using a sequence 12000 pump
The 4"skimmer feeds the Cetus sieve and the Aqua Fote 20000 output is split to feed the micro k1 bead with sub surface return, and the shower.
ive always had trace ammonia and high nitrates ( but zero nitrite) so have added the shower for more bio.
Im now thinking about the bottom drain line. Do I have enough flow to turn the water over but not too much to loose contact time in the nexus???
if I purge the bottom drain it takes about 4 mins to empty to the level of the output chamber. Is that too slow?

Hi Mike,
How is the shower going?
Still havnt ordered anything yet.
Think the way you are doing it is ok but maybe put some more over the shower as it could take the 20000 and put the bead on the nexus line.
Maybe wrong Mike but as you have the draco in the nexus you can only feed in 1 4ins inlet.
They say a fast flow over a shower.
I have the solum 25 drum with bottom drain and skimmer going in,one outlet to bio on sequence 10000 which would be the same as your nexus and return to pond.
Other outlet straight to shower on a 18000 variable.
Hope it helps Mike.John

is this stuff a good alternative, seems well priced and next day delivery?

It fills back up quickly John but takes about 4 mins to pump itself empty with the 4" drain isolated. I thought this might be too slow, but I need to balance the flow against the contact time for the k1 in the nexus.
i wanted to keep the sub surface return from the bead as it gives a nice current in the pond. On the few days I've just had the shower going, I seem to get an build up of crud on the floor of the pond at the opposite end?

Yeah that looks good and has a good reputation.
the stuff i bought looks the same but I'm sure there is some technical differences.
Not sure about volume to weight comparisons either. The stuff I bought was 49 euro for 10 kg with free delivery. 40 kegs filled my 3 tier 1m shower to about half full in each tray

Your all getting lost in marketing hype ... (like the hifi Vs pro audio business that I am in) ... just buy the cheapest sintered media product that you can find ... the performance will be within a few % of anything similar ... unless it's paramount for you to be able to say you are using the most expensive product available (which is really important to some on here) ...
