My Pod is the standard Eazypod Air. The model with the built in UV apparently pump fed only. I have studied the manual and watched almost all the videos on Youtube and Googled the lot. Anyway, the 3" to 1.1/2" rubber reducer from Swell UK is useless for the Pod, so will buy the 3" to 2" and use a reducer to connect to the 1.1/2" pump inlet.

ok nice one I was just making sure. that it was set up ok. as you would be amazed at how many people have asked how to do this. (set it to gravity feed). sounds like a plan with new boot and reducer, I remember when I did mine on my grow on. and I had not read the manual about swapping the rubber boots around. I bought a new boot. then I re read the manual and seen the part on swapping the boots around. and they fitted. so I now have a spare boot. haha.
had a look at your build. nice and neat. and coming along nice.

if a 3" to 1 1/2" boot wont fit why are you getting a 3" to 2",get a 4" to 2",the 4s will tighten to what you need,as for uv,cut hosetails off and put a 2" straight rubber connector over where hosetails goes in then other end on to your 2" pipe,if you think your plumbing is doing your head in think of mine,2 bottom drains feeding 2 drums, then 2 pumps each split after to 2 underwater returns and 2 pipes to shower, lol,,,andi

The 3" to 1 1/2" rubber reducer is 3" internal and far too small to fit the 3 1/2 (90mm) Pod outlet pipe. Anyway managed to find a 3" to 2" reducer and fits perfectly. And using couple of sleeve reducers at the 2" end to connect to the 1 1/2" pump inlet pipe. When they said 3" its actually 3 1/2 but somehow the one I bought from Swell is actually what it says on the tin so to speak. Anyway for the UV hosetail I am using 1 1/2" rubber couplings and a sleeve. When tighten it looks pretty good. May be its just me but I found the plumbing side of ponding really confusing with all the different sizes sold and when you come to measure and fit its different! And then sizes for pressure and waste pipes too all bloody different and confusing lol.

I'm not sure what make of rubber boots you have got but all the 3" ones I have fit on the 3" pressure pipe for my Eazy Pod. They may have been a bit tight to get on the first time I tried but after that no problems, Unless you have glued the sleeve reducers on to the pipe where you are trying to make a 2" fitting fit 1.5" pipe you will just blow them off as the water starts to flow through them. I know some of the 3" to 1.5" reducers are more of a squared off step down and others are more of a tapered off step down if that makes sense but that shouldn't make any difference if you are gravity feeding them to the pump.

I searched the whole interweb for a 3" to 1 1/2" rubber boot and only Swell UK stock them so got it from there, but the 3" on this is internal diameter whereas all other 3" rubber boots are larger close to 90mm ie Pod outlet pipe size. So the 3" to 2" I bought fits the Pod and the plastic sleeves is solvent welded to the end 1 1/2" pump inlet pipe and fit onto the 2" end of the rubber boot.

Hope to get the bottom drain flange fitted to the rubber liner this weekend as warm weather is forecasted! Then start the filter pump plumbing.

    That makes sense LOL

I've heard it's meant to be quite warm for Easter too. Easter either seems to be very warm or very wet but nothing in between from memory

Really need to seal the bottom drain this weekend. Hopefully I don't panic and make a mess of it though. Dreading the bit where you have to locate the holes under the liner to screw in the flange cover over the liner.

That's what's technically called the "shit your pants scary bit"

Good luck and just remember measure twice and cut once and if you are a religious person you have to give it the old spectacles, testicles, wallet and watch genuflect thing

Yes but if you get it right you will only need to cut about £5's worth from inside the drain

Thanks Andi. I know it sounds scary puncturing the liner to locate the screw holes but I think if I take my time and find the first one and work my way round the ring I should get right!? Nails as pointers a good idea but I am scare I might punch a hole in the liner before I lined it up.
