thats why this time i went box liner, just drop in and fold the flaps over the side, all ponds in past been flat liner, and between the folds in corners and excess over top its a nightmare,as for the bd and nails,i found it hard to feel the holes on bd ring when liner over them,i actually put a few more in when doing it the old way as thought id found a hole but hadnt lol,by putting the nails in as long as rest of liner roughly where it needs to be theres no worries, its simply a case of push down over the nail and it holds it in place,i did mine in a triangle, and its always worked spot on,,,,andi

Well got up early this morning and the bottom drain is finally sealed guys. I didn't used the nail method as suggested but managed to find the first hole quite easily but really struggled locating a second hole. Panicked and got the misses to hold a torch light so can see better and more or less guessed where the hole is and punched a hole thru liner and screwed in the screw. Went round the rim and luckily all screwed in fine. Phew! Put seal around the inside rim and even on the screws too lol. Might put the sealant around the outer rim of the ring too. How long do I leave it to dry (cure) before I start pulling the liner up around the wall and work on the pond return inlet thru liner?

Looks like you made a good job there. All that stressing earlier for nothing eh just like any good story teller you like to build up the tension then keep your audience in suspense lol

good job,now on with the rest,as the bd is fixed to liner you can sort liner out straight away,i always do then i leave 24hrs or in this heat 12 and go round sealant with a bit more to smooth it out and make sure its all sealed,i also put it round outside of the top ring, better more than less lol,,,andi

Thanks guys! All that stressing for nothing really, once that second screw hole located and screwed in, the rest was pretty straight forward, may be I was lucky lol. I will put more sealant around the inside rim and on the outer rim too to be on the safe side

Going to leave the liner work for now and concentrate on the filter pit instead. Going to level the base for the Pod to sit on, but I am unsure how to find the correct level so that the water levels on Pod and Pond are level? I am guessing the Pond water level is going to be second block from top. I have been told to use a clear plastic tube to determine the water levels by holding the tube against the pond wall roughly where the water level will be and run the length of the tube along the ground and up to where the Pod is going to sit amd fill the tube with water and you can determine the 2 levels due to gravity? Can I use this method by running the tube thru the bottom drain and up the 4" pipe? Any suggestions? Cheers, John

Sounds like you are describing a "water level"

Basically you just need a length of hose and 2 clear plastic bottles.

First you need to attach a bottle to each end of the hose and cut the bottoms off both bottles which should then be at the top if that makes sense? Start to fill one of the bottles with water from a tap and make sure you or someone else is holding the second bottle at the same height as the one you are filling with water. Once the hose is full the bottles will start to fill as well. depending on how big your plastic bottles are depends on how high you fill them. If they are fairly small say 500 ml then you may only want them to be both about 1/4 full. This next bit is easier with two people. Take one bottle and cover the hole on the top so the water doesn't splash out as it's being moved then walk over to the side of the pond and lower or raise the bottle so it is the same level as the pond water. While this is going on cover the top of the other bottle. Once one bottle is held at pond water height you need to uncover the tops of both bottles and then move the bottle where you have the Eazy Pod up or down until the water levels in both bottles are the same. Be ready to recover the bottles as if one is much higher than the other the lower one will over flow. You need to keep the pond level one still and move the Pod level to get the correct levels.

Or a more simple method if you can see both the pond and the Pod is use a laser level if you have clear line of sight between the two then make a pencil mark on the wall or something at both ends and measure down to the pond water level and then that is the same measurement you need to come down at the Pod end.

And if you are still awake after reading this reply go and have a strong coffee and give it a go

Haha I need a rest anyway just been outside digging to level out area where Pod will be standing and boy its bloody hot out there. Basically I get the idea you described. Can this be done more accurately if the pond is filled first and water level in the pond is determined? Rather than guessing where the level is ie one block work from top. And I am not even sure it will be at that point due to fact that the entire pond block work are not exactly level at each ends. So is it best to fill the pond and fit the slide valve at the 4" pipe going to the Eazypod inlet to keep the water out and find the water level in pond first.

As long as you can fill the pond and stop the water coming out of the bottom drain you can do it that way. But you may find it easier to do it with no water and have a best guess at where you want the water level to be in the pond as you may not get the Pod at exactly the right height. Basically the pond is a fix point and the Pod is basically a movable point so you adjust that to suite the pond as you can't do it the other way very easily can you

These are just my thoughts but others may have better ideas.

Ok thanks, will have a go with the plastic bottles tube method I have levelled out the area for the Pod, but need to buy a concrete paving slab for the base as recommended in the manual.
