Cleaning the Drum.
I am sure this has probably been asked a million times but how do people clean their Drum filter mesh? I have an AEM easy Drum and its been maintenance free for the last 10 months but definitely seeing a restricted flow now, which I imagine is caused by calcium deposits due to hard water. I have seen pressure washing and Hydrochloric acid come up as cleaning methods but want to make sure I go down the right route.

Thanks,
Jon.

Either brick acid or concentrated vinegar. You don’t need a lot, just use a paint brush and smear it on the screens.

White vinegar in a spray bottle from Amazon I also clean sleeve on my submersible uv spray white vinegar onto screens and just use manual clean on drum to rinse the bit you’ve done repeat until all screens done or you can spray the screens off with a high pressure spray gun on the hosepipe

I cleaned my screen last week and used citric acid, works a treat and is cheap as chips.

Jet washed mine 2 weeks ago, thought I ought to do after a year of running, but not much washed off..I have hard water so either no deposits or not dis
odged by wash. Difficult to judge..currently cleans every 10 mins during the day, less at night...difficult to assess!

How well do you have to wash out the drum once you have cleaned it, I know vinegar and fish go together nicely, just not sure in this context

Excellent thanks for all your help. I have bought some 20% vinegar and a spray bottle. Sure this will work a treat.

Surprised no one else has said it yet.
