Vertical drum
Hi Guys,
Sorry if these have already been discussed.

What are your thoughts on these?
They seem like a large answer unit crossed with a drum. Seem perfect for the easy section of the nexus.

Would rather have a Draco in a nexus than that, can’t imagine it’d be anywhere near as efficient at removing all the crap from the water

Cheers guys,
I'll have a quick look at that now.
Here's a link to this companies website in case anyone is interested.

Ah right, I did wonder where I'd seen it before.
Anyone got any prices?
I really like the look of them, they don't raise the height of your nexus like a draco, and are so simple there isn't anything to go wrong. I love it.

I though when I found them they're were a pretty nifty/simple idea albeit a bit pricey. They clean the screen with pumped dirty water though

Ha ha ha, I did realise the prices were on that link after I sent it, but hoped no one would notice. Lol.
It uses the clean water that it's already filtered to clean the screen, the pump has a pipe connected to the underneath of the unit.
I really like them, although you do have to buy the pump separately, but even then I could still get two of these for less than one Drako.
They don't have a UK importer, but do import directly with a weeks lead time.
Think I might speak to Santa.

Ah...they look a decent option of you have a big vortex or chamber to drop them into and are flushing it out already although a Draco would alleviate that as it’s automatic. I’d stump up the extra cash personally. Pretty sure I’ve seen something on YouTube on how to build them, I’ll have to have a rummage through and see if I can find it.

I'd need two as I have 2 nexus, so the extra cash would be Ł2k, not worth it for me.
All cleaning would involve is opening the drain valve for a min a few times a week, even I can manage that.

where does all the waste go ?
-
20-07-2018, 08:27 AM #19
i tried finding a video i'd seen of it working but kois law said no lol,the way it works is when it blocks it rises and the spray bar activates, but when it rises it blocks exit to pond and the waste water diverts to an exit to be taken out,all done by fluid dynamics,no electric involved, andi

Vertical drum
Theres a reason nexus ditched the answer in their units mate thats all im going to say but they had massive issues with the pump and things braking down. Also the screen never cleaned that well apparently but their spray bar system was different to the one youve posted. I believe this system is a fairly old design and was the precursor to todays drums
They do look quite nifty though and reasonsbly priced. Also they do have some pros as you pointed out with not raising the hieght etc.. would one fit in a nexus though?
How do they know when to clean? Must have a sensor on the clean/inside part of the drum/screen? I wouldnt trust a timerd clean cycle on that system design myself
