Nexus 210... will it go in my car?

    Hi all,
I'm picking up my new (well, 2nd hand!) Nexus 210 tomorrow. I've got the tape measure out and I think it'll just about squeeze into my car with the seats all flat (I've got an early (2008) Range Rover Sport). Could anyone confirm (or tell me I'm a bl**dy idiot?!) please?
    Cheers,
    Rich

I’ll be surprised If it does tbh!, even though there much smaller than the 310 there still quite a chunky unit!

The measurements do leave you thinking it would fit, but when you see them in the flesh is another story.

If you have 1300mm available width and 1100mm available floor to ceiling it will go in on its side with the base against the back door. If less room than that it could be a struggle.

I bid on one on eBay and got out bid at the last minute.... Turned out lucky as when I saw one in the flesh I realised it would never have gone in my dad's Vectra!

Had a new one delivered on the end, wouldn't even for through the side gate, had to take it through the garage.

Know the feeling, when i had my 220 installed, they had to take it over the fence at the side of the house,it had to go out the same way a few weeks ago when it was replaced by a Profidrum.Nexus are a bulky item.

Hmmm.... I was thinking with 850mm headspace and 1110mm width, it'd be OK on it's side...

I guess if the worst comes to the worst, I can tie it to the roof!

So going on the above - I reckon it'll fit on it's base. If I can get the slide the side of the Nexus with the 'Control Panel' and Inlet 'lumps' in first, I should only need around 1000mm clearance width-wise and 850mm in height (the depth isn't an issue as there's a good 6' of load space length-wise in the motor...

I'll take loads of rope and some spare liner to protect the roof in case the worst comes to the worst. Although I'd expect there may be some raised eyebrows on the M6 tomorrow if I have to go down the Plan B route...

Good luck with it.... It's surprising how small a space the Nexus will actually fit into.... The tough part is actually getting it into that space due to its size and awkward shape.

Fitting it the way your planning will require lots of Length between back of seats and tail gate. Try and get the "control panel" poking between the front seats. You may get it in and find you have to move driver's seat forward or tie the back door closed. Hopefully you'll be fine.

If you do get it in there I'd love to see a photo... That would be a benchmark for anyone else attempting similar.

    Good luck!

I had to pick up four old school 2" thick granite paving slabs for under my daughter's rabbit hutch yesterday - ~10 stone per piece, so I'm sure it won't be too heavy compared to those buggers! lol
    There will be pictures, anyway!

    That's brilliant! lol
When I built my current pond, I drove up to Liverpool in my Dad's Shogun to pick up a dozen 2/3" thick slabs of slate for coping stones. Boy you could feel it when you had to turn or put the stoppers on!
The things we have to do for these fish! lol

    It fit!!! JUST!

But you're right - they're bl**dy heavy! I'd have had a right mission trying to get the thing on the roof, so I was very relieved when it (just about) slid in...

No - but should have done! Thanks for that - I'll remember that for when I come to move it from the garage for installation!
