Mounting a Amalgam Submersible UV 40 watt
Hi
I have a profi combi 30 and have an Amalgam Submersible UV 40 watt to install.
Does this just lay in loose in the clean bayside or need fixing into position, if so how would people recommend this is done
Thanks for all the help

You’ll need the 32mm submersible mount for underwater use - Darren supplied mine already fitted in the clean side (it sits under the drum basically; I have the ProfiCombi 15).
Amalgam Submersible UV - Pond Uv Clarifiers - Absolute Koi
(Scroll down to the bottom of the page where the prices are; £15.00).
Give Darren a ring if your unsure!

Thanks, Rob,
I didn't notice this but wasn't looking for it.
I will check my shopping list and speak to him tomorrow
Thanks

I have an 80w Amalgam fitted into the clean side of my drum. I bought a little kit from Coastal Koi for fitting it through the side. These units are only semi-submersible so the part with the wire coming out needs to be fitted 'dry'.

Edited above post as it is in the clean side as Feline mentions - I think there were some early concerns about the UVC breaking down the plastic seal (where the water passes from dirty to clean/drum screen).
I understand Jan and his Team at Profi sorted that issue out.

I mounted mine so it can keep the drum screen free of biofilm (which it has) without being in direct line of sight to the drum seal.
The only downside I have found is that the 4 plastic bypass bungs between the dirty side and clean side of the drum degraded with the UV light and started to crack. I replaced them all this summer (less than 2 years on). They are readily available as a spare for the Aqua Combi drum though and I intend to stick some EDPM pond liner on the next set to protect them from the UV light altogether.2016 new 6000 gallon pond
