Thinking of buying a drum
I am giving real consideration to buying a drum filter for my pond. I would prefer not to spend a fortune.I have been looking at EBay and I see there are some affordable types in the €1000 range.
I was wondering if those on here who know about drums could steer me toward reliable units I should be looking for or maybe those I should avoid.
At the moment I am using an eazy pod for my mechanical filtration. This is connected to a 100L converted vortex style filter that is filled with a moving bed of K1/K3/biochips.
The filtration has been doing a great job for several years with 16 decent sized fish in a 17,500L pond.
In summer though, I do need to clean the eazypod at least once a week and sometimes more before it will block. So going on holidays and so on is a problem. I am not interested in a Nexus. If I am going to spend a decent amount of money I want a no hassle drum.
Can anyone offer any advice?

We have a KLK Filtreau 30 Hi flow Drum filter @ £1,295.00
There is also smaller unit (older model) Filtreau 20. Affordable drum filter with built in 40w Amalgam UV with cleaning pump £975.00
I'd be uncertain about eBay models without knowing who made them, there are an increasing amount of cheaper models coming onto the market recently, some good, some not so good.
But either way, I wouldn't ever go back now that I have a drum4600 Gallon Concrete Block and Fiberglass
