Virkon S
Hi guys,
First of all; I have hammered this site over the last week or so and been given some sound information and advice. Much has changed since my last pond and so this site has been invaluable to me.....so thanks to all!
Anyway, I have been very kindly pointed to a product called 'Virkon S Aquatic' and after checking it out it sounds like a great addition to pond maintenance. My questions however;
Does this product harm/kill plants (water lilies, elodea)?
Has anyone had any negative issues with using this product?
Thanks in advance as always.
John.

It’s a water sanitiser basically, you can also use it to sanitise your nets/koi equipment.
I understood it gained prominence as a form of protection against KHV (I’m not sure actually how effective it is).
It is not a treatment for fish and as you probably know and should be used above 4 degrees. Dosage; as per Andy’s comment but turn off UV for 8 hours.

I was advised to use it as a preventative against bacterial infection since I'm pretty sure that's what has recently caused deaths in my pond. I know it wont solve my immediate issue but I was wondering if it harms plants when added?
Cheers.
