My problem the unit does not seem to be removing all the chlorine as I still have a light pink tinge using Manky Sankes chlorine test method. It is removing chlorine as untreated water is dark pink, treated is light pink. I believe this size of vessel should allow me to get a flow of around 5ltrs a minute however even on 1/2 litre a minute there's still chlorine getting through.
I first presumed that maybe the O seal sealing the riser tube to the lid had been misaligned or damaged allowing water to bypass the carbon, but this appears un-damaged in in the correct place.
So now I'm suspected its the actual carbon that's the issue. The size of the carbon granules are approx 2 - 4mm, roughly the same size as rock salt granules and I'm wondering if this is meaning the carbon isn't packing down properly allow large enough voids for the water to track through untreated.
Does anybody have experience of this? Maybe I need a finer granulated carbon?

Sorry, I don't know enough about that device and I don't use a similar one. But I see no one else has answered, so here's my tuppence.
Most people say you have to run them at a true trickle to see best results. Have you tried reducing even further past 0.5 litres per min and measuring the results?
Try one drop a second, will give about 0.06 litres per min.
If that's still no good then there could be a fault somewhere, e.g. bypass/leak or just crap charcoal.
