    do sturgeon eat small fish

    hi i have just put a 3ft sturgeon in my pond that's heavily planted .i have large grass carp and koi ,i all so have 3ins koi and i was wondering if the sturgeon would eat them .when i look in the pond i can not see any small ones ,there is plenty of places that they can hide .before putting the sturgeon in they where allways on show .not so know .

    hi mate. i personally have never kept sturgeon. but i lost 3 to 4 inch koi down my bottom drain. so i now grow them on now. before going in to main pond. just a thought. that you could lose them in the drain to your filters
    mine got done in the drum. my drain is only an inch gap as well. fingers crossed yours are hidden in the plants.

    simple answer is yes if they get in the way and it will fit in sturgeons mouth they will,i had 3 3-4ft ones in a few years back and a couple of my small ones including some small goldfish dissapeared,i got rid of mine as i kept finding cuts under koi and put it down to splines on sturgeons back catching as they swam underneath koi,never had any issue after sturgeon gone,andi
