Feeding
Hi first year. I have two large diamonds n my koi pond. In two weeks time I am away for a fortnight. Do you think I will need to feed them? my pond is unheated.
Thanks
Chris

Yes, I think so. I could be wrong but I don't think they can go for as long as koi without food. I feed mine all year round but I am heated.

Feeding
Hi chris, I may be wrong as dont own sturgeon/sterlet but they are very cold water fish so they dont feel the cold like the koi do. I believe they require feeding right through winter. I had one a few years back that i lost about 4 weeks after stopping feeding in the middle of winter. I didnt realise at the time that they dont stop. Only problem I saw with sturgeon sinking food is that its quite high protein and i didnt want the koi taking it at the lower temps.

Feeding
I feed my sturgeon overnight to try and reduce the amount the koi get.
Especially as they seem to prefer it to koi food!

We have a large 3ft diamond back and a 18" albino sterlet. And they get feed every day. If we go on hols the neighbour comes round to feed um. They must be feed every day. Hope this helps.
