Whilst building you can use those rectangle pools on Amazon for £75. A solid pond will be best in the long run, and you can enjoy your fish while you build the pond.

Just an update on this guys. Before the temps dropped to sub 10 deg I thought I would dose the pond with fluke solve just to resolve a nagging idea the wound was caused by skin flukes.

It takes a while for k1 to mature, a lot more time if its a moving bed. I would recommend keeping some mature media online until the k1 matures

Personally I would 3/4 full with grog with three stages of sponge between the inlet and the grog. If you want clear water maybe some cotton fleece but it needs cleaning often.
