    what size gpd for????

What size ro system for 3000gallon pond

    and for 1000gallon grow on?

going to have to have to run 2 systems, pond and grow on to far apart, no more digging...

had planned to start this year, but after a 3 month battle with a dealer to get my cash back for a ro system I paid for and never received, so ran out of time ,

I've got 450 GPD on a 2,500 gallon pond and it's borderline whether it's big enough.

Im looking to start to bring ph down to 7.6/7.8 there or abouts, once ive got more experience a little lower, with my very high kh, and8.6 ph,

I dont want to run before I can walk.

I started with pH off about 8.4 RO brought it down to about 7 where I had to start adding bicarbonate to hold it there, I then found a new filter wasn't maturing so I took it back to 7.8 I'm now targeting 7.15 as I believe that's ideal for what I'm trying to do.

At this point if I can mix ro water and hard water and bring ph to 7.8 I would be very happy,,

filter all mature, so hopefully it wont have no effect on filter,

With a pond pH of 8.6 I'd run pure RO until you get to less than 8.0.

Yes thats my plan, to get down to a ph of 8, then mix 60/40 source/ro and follow the results

    Allo mate

    I'm running a 450gpd on a 2.8k quite happily.

But when these membranes get knackered (been going for 16 months now)
    I'll swap to a 4020 me think

Yes im leaning that way to, to many options and choices,, at least going with 450gpd to start see how it goes, not so expensive if I balls up the membranes to start

Membrane life time depends on the quality of the supply water. Yours sounds like it's not very good so you can expect to change membranes often.

Lots of people run a small water softener before the RO unit, they were designed for seawater.

Don't bother, unless you don't have a water meter. Even then it wastes huge amounts of water. The recovery rate is about 15% so for 720gpd of RO and 4800gpd down the drain.

Mine is sat in the garage somewhere

hi my pond is 4200 gallons.readings were'GH 29 dh,KH 19,PH 8.4,TDS 640!!!!!,i have a 450 gpd system running full time with bicarb dosing by hand, readings now are'GH 2,KH 1,PH 7.2,TDS 80,but this rises in summer feeding as unit not really big enough, but with bigger systems there is far too much waste..
