    Apex Practitioner Microscope

Arrived today so here are a few pics upon opening. I work away during the week so wont be able to get started with it right now but will document how i found operating it with the Minigrab attachment. One thing to note right from the off, the software is not Mac OS so I shall have to do some further research.

If anyone has any experience on this bit of kit please feel free to chip in if you wish.

Take a scrape from the side of your pond. Put the sample on the slide and place a cover slip over it and press it down reasonably well.

Start on the lowest mag and scan the entire slide and repeat for each mag. This is the process you will need to use when you get a skin scrape. Ideally with plenty of mucous on it.

For OSX supports most usb standard camera. Just have a look at the camera drop down in the settings.
You could use a wine wrapper on the application if it provides some additional functionality.
