Any ideas on a filter alarm?
I’ve put some decent security on to my filter house such as padlocks, security lights, etc but I’m looking for a small alarm now.
I bought a very simple looking one from Amazon that was just a motion sensor and a speaker and this could be armed by a remote. Worked well for the first day but at 4.30am it went off, woke me up and rushed outside.
Nothing there. The security lights all round the house were off and nobody around. If someone was anywhere on our property at least one light would be on.
So I thought maybe rodent set it off. I re-armed it and then sat and waited. Just in case.
It went off again 10mins later with me watching so I knew then that nothing was around.
Tested it the next day and it is just cr*p. No idea why it goes off randomly so it’s going back. Shame.
So, has anyone got anything similar installed on their filter houses that works well?
I'm looking for a simple install and just something that would go off when the filter house lid or door are opened.
Thanks!

Ours is an all wireless one and I tried moving a sensor from one room in to the filter house as a temporary solution but the signal was not strong enough as the main box is at the very front of the house and the pond is directly opposite side of the house and past an outhouse. Just wouldn’t connect sadly.
I guess I could see if I could run a wired sensor but I’d prefer to have an independent one for the pond just in case the wind rattled the filter lid and sets the whole house alarm off! I wouldn’t be popular...
