Fixing Copings
So finally have decided on what copings/surround we want for around the top of the pond (I say we loosely it was more the wife) so the question is do anyone have any tips/idea how to fix them? I assume just a normal sand and cement mix would hold them down and maybe run around the inside with a bit of silicone?

Thanks in advance

Just add a bit of unibond into the mix but make sure you dont want to take them off after they will dry quite firm

I used normal mortar mix when I done mine a couple of weeks ago then when is was dry I went around the mortar on the inside of the pond with a couple coats of G4, if you're local to thurrock I have loads left if you want some

I stuck mine down with Idealseal Automarine. That way you know its totally fish safe and you never need to worry about lime leaching from the mortar in the future. I used mortar on a previous pond and it really didn't look very nice where it met the liner. if you use black Automarine it is invisible.

can i ask are those concrete toppings,if so i would seal them all with G4 first to stop anything leaching out when they get wet, they look good when done with a shiny gloss,as for sticking down, when i had mine on old pond i found the cement didnt stick to liner properly so i would use something like CT1 or other good quality adhesive sealant,,,,andi

Fixing Copings
I honestly couldn’t say Andi but they are all uniform so would presume they were, my plan is to put sealant on the liner section and sand/cement on the outer half if that make sense.
Thanks for the offer Steve but I’m in Bristol so would end up being a road trip for me lol

So would just one coat be enough to seal or is it better to do 2 or 3 to be on the safe side
