Nice one Andi if we all thought the same way it would be very boring and it's lucky not too many people think the same way as I do or we'd be in big trouble LOL

I would have drilled a load of 10 or 15mm holes which would have been crap, but now its coming out perfectly, thanks once again.

    I never suggested 15mm - 12mm was the biggest I think I said LOL

Hi. Most of the discussion has been about the amount of holes at the top.
Can I ask how things are set up at the bottom, is there a sump for sludge or is it just open for flow out the bottom?
Also the plants are they just dropped in or planted?

there are 3 options for exits i think on a shower, 1) the standard weir/waterfall design, 2) a piped exit from bottom tray, 3) sit shower over pond and have holes in bottom so water falls straight through into pond, my stainless bakki has the weir plate to sit bottom tier on but if supported by a strong frame (70kgs of bhm in it lol) i could take off the weir plate and have it over pond more like a shower than waterfall,i also looked at having a piped exit as due to roof height i can only use 3 tiers out of the 4, and this would also mean i could site shower in filter house, but didnt bother haha, andi

ok, so there's no collection for sludge.
These showers then are set up as an add on to existing filtration systems ??

The more I research, the less I realize I know!

Thats it in one Simon, you dont want any sludge, anyway there shouldnt be any as it is the end of filtration and you can have bio filtration before hand,it is just an additional bio filter and a very good one.

    Ok, slowly getting there.
So a pressurised filter before the shower would work.
or an extra pump back from the other filter to get the height?

Simon, what is the other filter you have?
From your pressure to the shower would be fine though i have no experience of flows with a pressure filter.but you need a good flow over the shower and as clean as possible,as with useing porous media it would only block up quickly.
The shower isnt very good in the winter unless you are heating or you can insulate it well,as it cools the pond in winter as opposed to warming in the summer.
Are you buying a shower or making one Simon?

The pressure filter is just a pontec 7500 that then drops into a 140lt diy filter. I have another pump (aquamax 3500) currently not in use, I am just looking at options for improvement. My fish are only tiddly, but I realise that they grow and good filtration is crucial. So am looking to set up the attached 1000lt pond as anoxic filtration, and if I can add more things like the shower all the better.
I am a plumber so able to connect pipes together.

    Very handy being a plumber
Presume you will make your shower then, very easy to do apart from getting the spray bar right as you have probably gathered from this thread.
The anoxic is a good addition to have as well as the shower.
