For ease of cleaning the Eazy Pod I think it is worth putting a slide valve on the inlet of it as the 3" ball valve is a bit of a bugger to turn on and off quickly compared to a slide valve.

Fred, you had an issue with the slide valve on the waste outlet of your Eazy Pod and got a replacement from EA. Do you still have the correct number for the place you got the proper answer from as I thought you got the run around a bit from them? I went to clean my Eazy Pod yesterday and snapped something on or in the ball valve on the waste outlet so I couldn't get the valve to open at all. Fortunately it seems to be holding water at the moment and had to syphon the Eazy Pod to get it empty which was a pain as what normally takes around 15 to 20 minutes to do took nearly an hour

The ball valve looks like it screws on to the side of the Eazy Pod and as it's a strange thread only another EA valve will fit. So was going to ring them tomorrow and see what they say if you can let me know the correct number to call.

Nice one Fred. I'll give them a ring tomorrow and see if they have a ball valve as well as a slide valve.

I spoke to EA earlier today and was told that I would have to replace the tank connector as well as the ball valve or slide valve as the ball valve is solvent welded onto the existing tank connector and the money they wanted for a new slide vale and tank connector sounded a bit OTT to me and for a ball valve etc was even worse as you'd expect

I've just ordered some more bits for the QT waste system etc so thought I'd get a 2" ball valve at the same time and what I hope to do is either cut off the old ball valve as close to the vale as possible so I have as much of the sleeve left sticking out of the side of the Eazy Pod as possible then use a flexi rubber boot to connect the 2" ball valve to the waste outlet or if it is a good fit solvent weld the ball valve onto the sleeve sticking out as it looks like it is the same size as a bit of 2" pressure pipe?

Well as long as I can make it last until I get the QT up and running I can then do a proper job on it. I am wondering if I can remove the Internals of the old ball valve so water flows through it and then fit another ball valve after it just as a temporary fix while I get on with the QT.

Do you mean you have never tried to remove the Internals of a ball valve Fred? If so, the only reason I was thinking about trying it was when I altered the pipe work on the waste outlet the other week as soon as I unscrewed the union of the ball valve water started to come out of it so I am guessing that the Internals will just come out when I do the same again or if they don't then I may be able to get the valve to open and then stick another valve after it. Just got to wait for the delivery to arrive and the next time I clean the Eazy Pod give it a go. I don't fancy syphoning the Eazy Pod 3 times each time I want to clean it

I thought about that but as you know EA's stuff has a thread that only fits EA's stuff. Plus I am sure the person I had dealings with a while ago when I bought a UVC and the tube was missing and it took a few emails to make them understand what I was telling them was the same person I spoke to this week as they claimed they had never seen a ball valve on the waste outlet of an Eazy Pod before. So I thought I don't want to waste any more time with EA so I will have a go at fitting something else.

The delivery turned up this afternoon and the 2" ball valve looks massive LOL

Hopefully going to have a bit more of a go at it tomorrow as I've been too busy today.

I've taken a couple of ball valves apart ... I was reading the last few posts and am a bit confused as to what your exactly doing (I've never had a pod) ... but I've tried loads of things with valves and pipes ... maybe I can help ...

Some photos of today's progress -

1st Photo - I have fitted a slide valve on the inlet of the Eazy Pod and managed to get the gap between the flexi rubber boot reducers right on the edges of the slab, also I have sorted out the waste from the saniflo system to the water butts.

2nd Photo - showing more of the waste pipe work.

3rd & 4th Photos showing flexi hose for waste pipe work. The existing waste pipe from the main pond out to the water butts is 38mm and the new pipe from the QT is 40mm so I had to swap the hose tails on the Y section to get everything to fit. The damp patch is from when I cut through the existing flexi pipe and there was still some water left in it and is was minging I still need to hoover up where I drilled through the wall between the shed and the garage for the flexi pipe. I may have to fix the pipe back to hold it nearer to the wall?

1st to 3rd Photos showing altered waste pipe work from BD pipe work.

4th Photo showing how I intend to connect the waste outlet of the barrel filter to the pipe going to the saniflo system? I'm thinking 1.5" pressure pipe FTC, 2" flexi rubber boot coupler, short bit of 2" pressure pipe then 2" flexi rubber boot elbow and looking at it when it's fitted together I is mm perfect between the bottom of the barrel and the garage floor I think

1st Photo - temporary fix on the waste outlet of the Eazy Pod on the main pond. I managed to take out what was left of the internals of the original ball valve, fit a 2" flexi rubber boot elbow back onto the exiting ball valve and then a new 1.5" ball valve with a short length of 2" pressure pipe held into the valve by a 2" flexi rubber boot coupler.

2nd Photo - what's left of the internals of the existing ball valve. There was another little bit of snapped off plastic but I'm not sure where it went may have dropped into the tub? Will have to look once the sludge settles and the water clears.

Just got to sort out the drain on the barrel so it connects to the saniflo pipe work and I think that's all the plumbing done apart from checking the jubilee clips for tightness. Then it's the electrics and installation. Almost forgot I still have to finish the return pipe work and fix it back to the wall.

Do you know if the saniflo is going to work as you want it to.
Or is that trial and error lol

Trial and error unfortunately. I have got the pipe work for the waste set up so I can replace the saniflo with a normal pump if it doesn't work properly. I was originally going to run the pipe work going to the water butts up the wall and across the ceiling but then thought better of it and ran it round on the floor of the garage.
