    Steel Mesh

    Hello there

Ok the bottom drains are now in and i am looking at getting hold of the steel mesh to sit on the bottom of the floor where the concrete will be poured over - can i ask some questions based on my pond being 24ft * 15Ft

How high off the ground off at all does the mesh need to be if we are putting in 9" of Concrete ?

If using these mesh sheets would you bother with fibred Concrete ?

How much if any should i overlap the sheets ?

Do i need to "tie" the sheets together ?

Do you have any photos of your pond with the steel mesh stage ?

    Thanks all

I put my mesh on house bricks and overlapped the sheets I think by around 18'' . Used an angle grinder on the sheet to cut the shape for the bottom drain. Fixed the mesh together with cable ties.
The pic I have shows work in progress the mesh sections were joined by an overlapping piece. Also shows in May 2011 the weather was rather wet.

ok pal answers are as follows

id put them 100mm off the floor using steel seats for it to sit on

dont bother with fibers if using mesh or forget the mesh and just use fibers

they should over lap by 2 squares

and yes they need to be tied together with tie wire

    hope that helps

in sort, the mesh should sit in the middle of the conrete.
So if you are having 9" of concrete and the mesh is 0.5" thick, then 4.24" off the floor would be ideal.
