anyone have experience of using the IBC drain tap as the Bottom drain? a rubber boot would cover the attachment of pipework but i cant figure out how i would cover the hole to avoid escapees as a normal bottom drain would have the dome to cover.

You might be better off using a proper 2" BD or you can make something similar using a 1.5" FTC and a cover plate with spacers under it. You can then connect it to a 1.5" ball valve using flexi rubber boot fittings.

it is 2 inches on the outlet.
i was thinking siliconed mesh of some sort. might just down the pump route and then just flush the bottom with the drain value occasionally when cleaning the filters.

Go fourth and multiply you pack of numpties lol
It's getting there but I keep getting held up due to work related issues
As for cleaning your Eazy Pod Rapleyr, the better idea would be before you put fish in it fill the system up and PP it all in one go, rinse it out and then refill it using ST and that way everything gets a good clean at the same time.

Rinse, run full with the PP treatment, empty, rinse and then fill with dechroniatated water?
Mine is going to be very basic so don’t judge!

Yes some thing similar to that.
Some say -
Fill, PP, ST, empty and then refill, ST and job done.
Fill, PP, ST, empty, refill, ST, empty, refill, ST and job done.
Fill, PP, empty, refill, ST, empty, refill ST and job done.

It's what ever is best for you at the end of the day. You can only fit what you can fit in the available space and also if it is not going to used again once everything else is finished why spend silly money on it?
Just remember to stick some photos up as it is always good to see how things are going. Also photos may help some one spot something you might have missed or not thought of
