Solvent weld 4" Double Union Ball Valve to waste Pipe

Hi all, need some advice please before I glue the 4" BD waste pipe to the 4" double union ball valve with reducers to accept the waste pipe. Since the ball valve is designed for pressure pipes, I need to have the reducers solvent welded to both ends to accept the 4" (110mm) waste pipe. Can I use the Flopast solvent weld cement I am already using for my other waste pipes or do I need special solvent weld cement/glue designed for pressure pipes? Don't want to mess it up considering the price of this ball valve! Thanks.

Thanks for your reply. Reluctant to use FloPast since the instruction clearly say for non pressure pipes and these ball valves are for pressure pipes use only but with plastic reducers can be adapted for accepting waste pipes. So this is the part I am confused. Gluing the reducer to the ball valve flange to create a leakproof seal? Apart from the 4" valve I also have 4 x 1 1/2" versions to glue too so really need to sure that normal FloPast can do the job. These ball valves already costing a fortune lol so don't want to mess up.

Same here, used a mixture of adhesives and they all work fine.
    No pressure to worry about

As others have said, pressure is in fact minimal. Ordinary household pipes/glue are perfectly capable. I have even used push fit fittings on 110mm bottom drain pipework with no problems or leaks- as long as pipes are held such that they can not slowly push apart!!

Thank you all for your replies. I think on the smaller 1 1/2" ball valves won't beba problem but on the larger 4" one I need to apply the glue all over the jointing surfaces as quickly as possible and glue in the reducers first. Let that set then glue in the waste pipe. Will have a mallet ready too to tap in place if required. I find it difficult to do the 4" u bend on the bd pipe last time round literally the glue dried very quickly by the time I try to fit it.

It helps if you have 2 people each with their own pot of glue and applicator one to do each part of the joint.
Put plenty on because reducer sleeves double the number of joints you are making and potential for leaks.
Personally I would glue the sleeve onto the end of the pipe first and let it set before doing the actual. valve, but you need to make sure you wipe off any excess glue if you do that.

Its a really good idea to use the special cleaner to prepare the ends too (removes grease but also starts dissolving the surface so you get an. excellent seal).

iirc the cleaner also give you a little more time to push together as the glue doesnt set as quick due to surface already slightly melted,,,,andi

Thanks. I have some IPA Isopropanol Alcohol, will that do or do I need special cleaner for the job?

As Lara (Feline) said above, use the correct cleaner because it also softens and prepares the surfaces ready for the glue to penetrate into them. Apply the glue as soon as possible after using the cleaner before the surfaces harden again.

The reducers are glued to ball valve flanges. Only used damp cloth to wipe the areas to be glued after making sure all are dried and cleaned. Well fingers crossed. I think I have done a decent job. Really need to crack on with my build. Made little progress since I put in the bottom drain back in Easter period. Will get the Eazypod connected to the ball valve asap this week and I can start filing the pond.
