    UV connections

    Hi all, Iíve got a EA UV filter and looking to connect to 40mm Solvent weld pipe, any suggestions would be much appreciated.

    I wouldn't not directly I did it with a yamistu 55 and it means it can't really be changed around in the future I would use a rat tail fixed to your 40 mm pipe it fits and glues perfect and use a small length of high pressure pipe, flexible rubber not the corrigated rubbish and then it can be removed for upgrading or cleaning, servicing ect, just my opinion tho

    i used this to connect onto ea uv hosetail... (with bit of ptfe underneath)

    then straight onto outside diameter of 40mm solvent weld pipe..

    cost £8.99 screwfix..

    done this both sides and has not leaked a drop...

    A Flexseal PC43 straight connector is probably the best option. Made from EPDM rather than cheaper PVC they are more flexible and have a couple of ridges on the inside at the ends, and in my opinion create a better seal. They also have a higher co-efficient of friction which means they are less liable to slip off your smooth pipes than the PVC variety. Available on eBay.
