Garden Irrigation
I have a little plan forming to utilise the pond trickle out water to irrigate the garden. I have a narrow gap down the side of the pond which I could probably fit a smallish rainwater harvesting tank or something similar which I could then run the skimmer overflow into during the summer. I’d like then to pump that water round the garden via some soaker pipe.
Is this doable and if so, anyone done it and how/what sort of pump?
My original plan was just to drain it all into a massive flowerbed that also has a big tree adjacent to it but I think 2000 litres a week might be a bit much whereas that spread round the garden and over the grass would be about right.
Any help as usual gratefully received.

You could use a float valve or timer and a 12v washer pump.should work....andi

Garden Irrigation
Little solar panel maybe...or I’ll have a look for 12v mains converted pump.
Possibly a caravan water pump. Lots of possibilities I think

Another couple of ideas I've looked into are as follows:
Trickle out of Nexus into a sump containing a sump pump (preferably with integral float for reliability), then pipe work along fence around perimeter of garden with holes drilled that will trickle water along all the flower beds etc. I have seen this method in action from a drum waste outlet with 4" pipe around the edge of the entire garden and it was very effective, and you couldn't see any of the pipe work unless you hunted for it.
Another idea which isn't so aesthetically pleasing would be to run guttering around the top of your garden fence around perimeter of garden with holes drilled in the bottom and pipe the sump pump to that.
If using flexi pipe between sump pump and the options above, when lawn needs doing you can disconnect flexi pipe and reconnect it to a lawn sprayer for a day which does what it says on the tin.
Whatever you do, if you can prove none of your pond water goes back to the drain you can then connect a meter to the pond supply and claim a rebate from your wastewater bill, if you're on a meter.

That was part of the reason for doing it RS plus most of the waste water will be used for something useful at least as well as being able to save a few quid

hozlock do pump kits that fit into waterbutts for this purpose. bury drip pipe a few centimetres round the boarders and you will lose less to evaporation, only negative is if using too much water mains water in time you can increase salt irons in the soil, though the average autumn, winter, spring should assist in flushing these

That would work, simple one stop solution and not expensive, I’ll have a look at that some more thank you
