Can the rubber connectors be used to connect a 110mm pipe to a 4" pipe?
Say I had a 110mm BD feeding across a 110mm pipe to the nexus,
Seen a well priced aerated bottom drain but its 110mm ,but by the time I add adapters its no longer well priced!
Just take the 110 straight into the nexus if that's the pipe your useing. If your using 110 though I would use glue joints not push fit as the pressure could push it apart.
I have used push fit bust sealed it with mastic.
I use push fit on the waste side into the drains.

So 4“ and 110mm are compatible?
I plan on using solvent where necessary and rubber to my hardware.
Here's another question while I'm at it.
Are the evolution aqua uv clarifiers NY use? Awful reviews on amazon.

Use pressure pipe everywhere.as for solvent .the only solvent weld on either of my bd work is where pipe goes into bd.after that its all 4" 90 bends from toolstation.its worth the extra for the pressure pipe.all my pipe after drums is 2" pressure aswel.as for evo uvs dont bother.get a tmc or if money no object an amalgam uv...andi

    That is great guys!
    TMC 55watt on the list.
I'm still not clear on the pipe.
    4“ is your standard pvc?
    110mm is pressure pipe?

The problem you have is there is 4" waste and 4" pressure and the outer diameter is different by quite bit plus with pressure pipe the walls of the pipe are thicker due to the extra strength required for it to be able to run at higher pressures as the name suggests. I think you will find that 4" waste will fit inside 4" pressure and make a fairly good sleeve or reducer once solvent welded in place. So going by that theory pressure pipe measurements are the inside diameter and waste pipe measurements are the outside diameter.

Do you know the airated bottom drains that have a normal air hose (not the 1" solid pipe).
Any reason not to run the air hose down the bottom drain pipe and out to the air pump?
I take it that its best to keep your air pump above water level too yea?
    thanks

Most people have a slide valve or ball valve on the bottom drain line.
    There lies the problem.
I have 4 inch ball valve on my bottom drain. Thats why i bought a drain with 1 inch air pipe line. Spindrifter
When i purge my nexus. To flush the drain once a week. I isolate the bottom drain valve. Pump the nexus
Into pond. To 3/4 empty. Then open valve and it rushes in. With an air line through the valve you would not get a seal. Also the valve in time
In my opinion would split the airline
    Hope this helps
    Fred

Yes you want your air pumps above
    As high as possible.

    Ah yes freddyboy,
    It's obvious why not now!
The spindrifters seems expensive for what they are but doesn't seem to be much choice out there with the separate air pipe.

I ran my bottom drain with an air line down for many years.
It's easy to do as your pipe comes up and T's off to go to the filter put a branch in instead. Then I reduced two 2" pipe and came up above water level and just, just run the airline down it.
It needs to be a few inches above the water line because when you perge the drain it may force the water up the pipe and flood out slightly. You connect the valves etc all in the same way you normal would.

Not necessarily as if you fit a non return valve on the air line then where you mount the air pump makes no difference. I had that problem on mine until I fitted an NRV and it solved the problem. I used to have to keep lifting up the air pump with the check valve still open and blow the water out of the airline if I forgot to close the check valve after cleaning my Eazy Pod.

As high as possible is the best option as Fred said but if you can't for what ever reason with an NRV it doesn't matter.

The only time it could be a problem with an NRV is if the water runs back down the air line and sits against a closed check valve or NRV and the water freezes in the air line which could split the air line. I'm only thinking what would happen in my set up as the air pump is only on when I clean the Eazy Pod but if running all the time then you shouldn't get the same problem?

Simon - you could go one better and fit a stop end on your 2" pipe with a connection for the air line to fit onto each side of the end cap couldn't you? Anything to save a bit of flooding

This is kind of what I was thinking just need to get the correct sizes for your air line -

    2 of these -

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BSP-STAIN...ar=&hash=item0

and maybe 1 of these -

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BSP-STAIN...ar=&hash=item0

May need to either PTFE the threads or silicon them to get a water tight seal?

    Sorry those links were wrong

The first one should have been 2 x 3/4 BSP hose tail
The second one should have been 1 x 3/4 BSP full socket

Not sure if you'd need 3/4 BSP or 1/2 BSP to get the correct hose tail size for 12mm airline?
