Just read above mark and that all makes sense Mark's new 10k ltr pond build diary sounds like it should be fine mate. Its looking very good now all filled up etc.. filter house is very very neat Mark's new 10k ltr pond build diary its a nice size too really. Hope all goes well with the rest.

Today’s the day, off to UK Nishikigoi to get my first koi, it’s only taken 3 years but we’re finally ready for fish !
To say I’m excited is an understatement

Have a great day, it’s an amazing thing to be buying your first fish. My only advice would be don’t get too many, it’s a new pond and unless you’ve been fishless cycling you’ll have all of those new pond problems we’ve all had.

On varieties I start with the simple ones, Kariegoi, Chagoi, Benegoi all of which I like, seem pretty resilient and are fast growing

    Enjoy your day

I bet you are mate, have a super day choosing your fish, I wonder how long it will take for you to make a decision lol, its like going clothes shopping with the wife but not quite as long to actually chose something and you normally always go for the fish that catches your eye in the first place, just like my wife three hours later she goes back and buys the same top she saw in the first shop were very similar in pond build and completion date, good luck with your water keeping, as DJ has said don't go mad and keep low numbers, I started off with 3 back in early June then went to 5 a few weeks later sadly lost 2 from jumping out and now have 6 in total as brought 3 last weekend..... that's is now for me until September where 1 or 2 more will come and then that's it until next spring, enjoy Steve.

Hi all, haven’t posted since new fish day so here’s a few pics of the almost complete pond. Just the render on external walls left.
i introduced 6 small koi from UK Nishikigoi in July and all 6 seem happy have been feeding well over the summer and all grown a lot already.

    Hi Mark,
Hope you and family are ok,pond looking great and like the rocks on the far side.
Lovely koi you got and great colours.Went to UK myself this year for a nosey and was quite surprised at the prices but didn't buy nice place though.
Think you did right only getting 6 to start with so it can mature well.
    John
