you would have to put a valve on each outlet side of the T then either shut bd off for a few hours and open skimmer line or try and balance the flow so you have enough draw to keep bd and skimmer doing theyre job, when i got my drums and shower i planned on selling my nexus 200 to scrape some cash back as i went £1.5k over budget,i planned on doing same and using a T but decided to use nexus on skimmer until next spring instead lol,i do have a stainless nexus but cant figure out how to use it instead of nexus as it was designed to hold an answer, andi

If it is 4" all the way - yes there will be plenty of draw but don't bother plumbing in 2" it is unlikely to draw enough.
p.s. I agree with Andikoi - you will need a valve on each pipe - a ball valve is recommended on the BD but a slide valve is fine on the skimmer.Last edited by pip895; 03-11-2018 at 01:04 PM.

on my last pond i put mine 12" and 18" below surface on opposite corners to make a rotation in pond, but a lot of people just put them pointing towards skimmer,on new pond i have them both on same wall under my shower to push water to far end of pond, but can adjust as have them all on valves, andi

Mine are 3 feet of the bottom under
My skimmer. 6 feet deep. My pond is round. So no corners. So it circulate s quite good.
And works well on the bottom with my air from bottom drain.

Brill guys I’m looking at putting them about 2ft from the top I think either corners.
Now looking at ordering my window! My internal length on the selected wall is 3.9m I’m thinking a 1800x700mm 25.5mm window would that be ok? Infinity too.

Bit more time on the build today.. few more courses then I’ll put my two returns in think I’m going to go 2” not 1 1 1/2” as I’ve got two 2” ball valves here unless I just get some reducers so I can use them on a 1 1/2” line..

I’m running the two returns from the UV as 1 1/2” into the pond but I’ve got 2 2” ball valves laying here brand new I suppose it would be to just buy four reducers for either side and use them in my line?

Can see light at the end of the tunnel well on the block laying anyway!
Order my window today 2100mm long but 780mm deep 25.5mm thick.. looking forward to getting it fibreglassed then that fitted! Not think it’s gunna be a tad heavy!!

Looking good.
Did you go with 2" pipe in the end - not a bad idea as it will reduce back pressure so more flow for the same pump size.6000g in ground koi pond

Just had another thought about this --
You need to turn over your pond every two hrs minimum. This means a minimum flow of at least 14k ltrs/h for a 28k pond (16 would be a better target). If the nexus can only cope with 8k (10k at the outside) you are going to need the pod to make up the difference!6000g in ground koi pond

Yes your nexus will cope with that running at 8000 lph or just over. You would need to be fairly lightly stocked though if you cannot turn the pond over at least hourly.
Putting your pod on the skimmer line would give you some useful extra filter capacity.2016 new 6000 gallon pond

Running heater at low temp?
Covering the pond with polycarb should be enough to stop water temps dipping below 6C for the most...
