Yes maple the whole front of filter shed comes off and roof so bulb can just slide out, well that’s the logic in reality it will be a pain to get out with a few choice words lol

Well all I say is god loves a trier lol this weeks attempt.
Not quite finished but as with everything it’s a start got more water in too and have a dustbin of k1 bubbling away like a witches cauldron in the front room in an effort to cycle, electrics are taking for ever as he’s away for a week now I shouldn’t complain really he’s doing it for nothing.

Well its a start
Ok so finally I have electrics and all running only found 3 leaks easy fix just needed tighten a few bits up, so it’s been running since last night looked in this morning and looking a bit murky, is it like tanks they go a bit wired to start with? also do I need to fire up uv or can that wait till spring? Sieve is collecting loads of crap too which I assume was in BD line and bottom of pond, still got plenty of tinkering to do though lol

When i first filled mine. For first time.
I ran it over night. Tested for leaks. And dumped the full pond and filters. To get rid of any dust and debris. Then refilled it up. And that worked on mine. Not on a water meter though.
It should clear up. Just might take longer though.
Enjoy the new build

It's quite normal to get a bit of crud down your Bottom drain pipe during construction. I can remember washing mine out with hot soapy water then using the pond vac to remove and doing lots of rinsing to get them clean. So long as it's nothing toxic or limey should not be a problem for your sieve to remove.
Are you holding fire on the fish until spring now?
I would fire up your UV for a couple of weeks to check that it works. The sun is getting weaker now so much less chance of an algae bloom than there was a month ago. Also your covers will inevitably block some light waves.2016 new 6000 gallon pond

I figured as much. It’s hard to resist when the pond is just finished.
As long as you’re happy with them, that’s all that matters in my view.
Keep a close eye on those parameters, especially in the early weeks.
all the best.
