Lol, it’s just one of those jobs that has to be done thoroughly. Few evenings of rinsing won’t be any great stress.
It’s just a matter of perfecting the technique
All the internal plumbing is redone now. Had a rethink on something thanks to a suggestion from Scott (Skoosh) and that went together quite well.
Have to remember to tighten everything up now lol.
Bit more basket construction over the following week then good to go...again

Just a thought, could you dump a bag into the bio chamber fill up a say 1/3 with water and turn the air on full blast and leave for say 20mins to rough up the clumps then drain and repeat? Not sure what size the diffuser holes are on the bio chamber but I imagine the cat litter would rather settle than be sucked through? Obviously you would then need to scoop out the cat litter but might clean it in bulk

It’s actually quite delicate stuff.
Someone mentioned using a pressure washer to clean it on a thread I read however I tried that and even on my lowest setting the stuff just gets pulverised. I think maybe being a bit more delicate is the key.
Everyone who’s done it previously says it’s a faff but you have to go through

I know they were as all the bits I bought and now have given to you were what was on Manky's website so didn't know how far out the amounts were until you started to build the baskets. As I said we can sort something out later when I need some insulation for my QT and take the price of what I had to pay for the bits from the price of the insulation OK

I did not find making baskets too hard. First find (and test by soaking for a few days) cat litter- in my case wilko budget cat litter. Then sieve the litter , I used a 1.5-2mm hole sieve and did small amounts at a time. Fill baskets, adding JBL Aquabasis tied in old stocking, as you go and top with washed gravel. This was the most time consuming part. I then just ran a hose over each basket for about 30 seconds and put them into pond. A small amount of cloudiness comes out but at the end of the day that is exactly the same as a "koi clay" treatment- so no great harm and soon clears.

OK thanks. Just got to go out for a little while for an appointment so I'll have to put the phone on silent.

That’s the conclusion I was arriving at.
If I’d left it all in there my drum would be burnt out after a week
Maybe it’s that brand (Sanicat) but a couple of the sacks were extremely fine grained.
If anyone is interested my shopping list will have comprised
24 baskets 270x270x190 from All Pond Solutions
9 x 30l sacks Sanicat Original from Amazon
2 x 5l bags Aquabasis from Amazon (400g ish per basket)
Few pairs of old tights from the Mrs (I did ask first)
2 x sacks tumbled pebbles from Keber
(Might need a few more so will pinch some off the drive, part that doesn’t get used)
Some 1” conduit which I had lying around to separate the baskets.
A few cable ties to stop the conduit rolling around.
2 aching arms from sieving and washing 6 bags of cat litter this afternoon.
5 million gallons of water to wash it all off.
37 cappuccinos for Frim while he “helped” (watched in awe at my skills)
1 cheesed off wife cause I made a big fat mess.
4 angry bin men (the sludge has gone in the get bin, it’s heavy lol)
Think that’s about it.
Oh yea, 300l of K1 I still have to flog

Hopefully you didn't spend too much time cleaning your drive way off last night as the rain we've just had would have saved you the bother

Running heater at low temp?
Covering the pond with polycarb should be enough to stop water temps dipping below 6C for the most...
