I’ve just had a rebate from Thames water after I rang them about my pond.
Explained to them that I had to fill it twice (then empty it) and they were good enough to put it down that I had a leak. Can’t say fairer than that. Was well chuffed. It’s about the only thing g that hasn’t cost me shedloads of cash lol.
Am still waiting to hear from them about the pond abatement discounts as the lady had never heard of it. Reminder to self...give them a ring this afternoon

If they have read what you have gone through on here you will probably have a big enough rebate to retire on lol

Got the majority of the filtration finished the last couple of days need to connect the 2 inlets to the sieve then go from the sieve to the bead, to the UV and then to the returns. Pond is filled up and ready to go filled it over 2 days seemed to take forever. Does anyone use any types of fixings to stop the airlines coming off the nipples

Hi Steve, if you are using silicon type air line or the same stuff they use on Eazy Pods and Nexus's etc then small jubilee clips will do the job. I've heard of people using cable ties on the smaller sizes of the silicon air lines as well.

Was only thinking cable ties for the very small air line and not the 10 or 12 mm stuff Fred

Unless you are using an airlift Steve I'm not sure how loosing an air line will drain your pond?

The pipe for the air line comes from the bottom drain. I thought if the air line came off the water would come up the pipe and drain the pond or would that not happen, I didn't put non return valves on but may drain the pond down and do that before I put any fish in.

It is easy to a NRV on your air line which is always a good thing to do. But as long as your air pump is above the level of the water in your pond then water can't syphon back through it I think you will find.

I've got 1 more connection to make as the pipe i thought was 2 inch is slightly bigger and doesn't fit in the coupling so need a rubber coupling. Should be finished tomorrow and get it all cycling ready for fish next weekend or the weekend after

Nice one mate. Looks nice. Be proud. And enjoy the pond mate.
If like frim mentioned. You keep your air pumps above the water line
It won t run back from the pond.
Mine are about 2 foot above pomd water level. ( air pumps ). And i don t have check valves in my system.
And i can turn it off for hours. Some times days. And all is well
