Thought I’d share some work in progress pics! Already it’s starting to look like an actual pond.
Dave Arnold is doing an amazing job.
Coping stones going on at the weekend and then the window will be added on the 18th July.

Gray,
Well that is certainly a slope on the bottom of the pond. Hope he can get out of the deep end!

Without a doubt! I never thought I’d see the day when I was out laying block after block for so many nights and weekends. Seemed like an endless task. On the home straight now.
Just need to hope for zero leaks in the pipework. 🤞
That said, it’s going to be a real centre piece of our rear patio when it’s running and I’ll have the pleasure of thinking “I built that” which is nice.
Never again though!!!

Cheers Lee, thanks for that and great to hear from you! No water just yet. Very soon though...
The window glass comes today, the fitting will happen tomorrow and Thursday the armoured cable is connected up.
So Friday night will be when the dechlorinator gets connected up and the hose popped into the pond!
Filter commissioning will be Saturday morning.
And if there’s a leak on any of the filter pipes I think I may just lie on the floor and cry

Little update from today. The glass arrived! Hooray!
But it wasn’t packed in anything at all, the guy didn’t have a trolley and it weighs 154kg...
So I sent it away to be packed properly and brought back Thursday on an A-frame and with a trolley on the truck so we can get it off.
Fine for them, they loaded it with a fork lift. But funnily enough whilst I’ve got all manner of tools and machinery here I don’t have a fork lift lying in wait...
And as for not wrapping it all, the mind boggles. Ah well, it’ll be back soon. Glass install is now delayed until Sunday.
I did have a good look at the glass and as for holding back the water, it won’t have a problem doing that. It’s so thick I reckon it could stop a bullet! 🥊
Anyways, in better news there’s only a couple more courses of facing brick to do on the outer wall and I placed a coping stone on one bit to see what it’d look like and reckon it’ll look the part.
So in summary, looks like it’ll be Monday night now when the hose gets switched on but that’s fine.
