Yes, fingers crossed on the MRI The Jebao I picked up is variable so I’m looking forward to getting that running. Sadly I’m working on the house breaking out concrete to get to rad pipes as we need to move the rad locations. Can’t complain though, using the concrete breaker is actually quite food fun!!!

All ideas and critiscim on my plan for moving the Koi to my pond are very welcome.
I've got four Goldfish in the pond at the mo and they are about 5" so not huge - they look a bit lost in the pond but seem to enjoy racing around so they're happy!
So, moving the Koi to the pond - luckily the parameters in the pond where my five Koi are are near enough what I have in my new build. Bar the phosphate being high on mine, which I am dealing with, they are pretty much the same.
I've got a Matsuba (about 15") to collect from Nottingham (40mins away) when it warms up a bit and then I plan to wait for a couple of weeks, let him settle and the filters pick up the slack and then collect two of the five Koi from my Mum's house. The first two of my Koi are between 20-24" each.
Wait again I reckon for a couple of weeks for the same reasons and then collect the final three - in the final pick up will be my Dad's most precious fish, a 33 year old Gin Rin Yamabuki Ogon. He's about 30". I'm terrified of bringing him over because while I have no idea if he's worth thousands or just £1, it's the sentimental value that's the important part... Fingers crossed all goes well with him particularly.
Both ponds (Nottingham one and my Mum's) are well kept and all have healthy fish in them.
I've got all the gear needed to transport them (heavy bags, plastic boxes with lids, etc) but if anyone has any tips please feel free to share! Also, tell me if my plan is not right or I need to consider something I've missed.
Do I need to consider having a temporary holding tank at mine for any reason? Anything else to consider? Thanks guys!!!!

Sounds ok to me but let water testing guide you. Before moving them over just check water parameters and deal with any anomalies before bringing the next fish over. Sure it will go well.

Thanks RS200, Roy & Rayman, really appreciate it.
Noted about water parameters. Should be good on those as all three ponds seem to be similar. I’m dropping my PO4 this weekend via water change and also salting it to kill the algae which in turn should keep the PO4 down. Fingers crossed.

Sounds like a good plan mate.
As said .water parameters is the main thing.
Also stress. Of the move and a new pond.
Good luck with it mate. What a differance the look of your ponds going to be.
With the larger fish swimming about.
Get in there.

Sounds a good plan Gray and you have looked into it properly.
Presume your mum is not too far away and 40 mins to Notts is fine with no oxygen.
The big Yami will be a heavy job but will look fantastic in your pond.
Watch the temps Gray ok moving to slightly higher but they dont like going colder.
If salting for weed that is good as it also calms the koi after a move, try to keep them calm as poss when catching and bagging blow bag up with an air pump if no oxygen.
It is very stressful for koi and us,good luck mate.John

Thanks John, didn’t know that about the salt so I’ll definitely be doing it this weekend then because the algae is annoying but if it has benefits for the big guys too then it’s definitely a job that’ll be done.
Both ponds are about 40mins away so similar.
There’s a spare pump at my Mum’s house so I’ll use that the blow the bags as you say.
I’m really looking forward to this part of the new pond being over. Roll on mid-summer when they have been in for a few weeks and all is happy.

I’m looking forward to moving some Koi in now but wondering if there’s an ideal temperature to wait for?
My pond is at 12c at the mo.
I’m not thinking of moving any in too soon but curious as to whether there’s any ideals?
Cheers!

Personally I would wait until you're at 15 degrees as there is still a risk of aeromonas bacteria being high at 12. But its all a matter of personal judgement.

Cheers Rayman. Definitely not thinking of moving anything at the moment.
I’ll wait for 15 then think about moving the Koi.
