Peoples filter pump house pics wanted
Starting to design filter house could people post some pictures off thier filter house to give me some inspiration

Here is mine. It is a sunken brick manhole sharing a wall withthe main pond. It is covered with a 45x60cm metal manhole lid.

Tip: I wish I'd made it larger.
Tip: drill the holes for the pipes after you have built the structure, otherwise trying to calculate the position to make a hole in the bricks bewfore the filter can be placed is quite hard.

When I've finished building my filter house I will take a pic. It's coming out quite nice- I could move in there Even has French doors. It's bigger than many peoples ponds though, so might not be what you have in mind.

I used to have a filter pit when I started out keeping koi but then quickly realised on a cold winters evening.........I needed a filter room creature comforts and all that

Oh l like that tg at the back as have water blade to ad also want to leave room for a seive when funds allow or might just add a shower

I think your pond build is the exact opposite of mine Laura. I set about digging and building the pond and then scratched my head and thought 'what am I going to do about the filter house?'. The plan has evolved as it went along. Mine is going to be strictly utilitarian on the basis I am not planning to need to go in it that often

Running heater at low temp?
Covering the pond with polycarb should be enough to stop water temps dipping below 6C for the most...
