I have one identical. Everytime I make a change, move house build a new pond etc I always say Im getting shot and having only Japanese Koi in the pond. However I always keep him as hes been there from the start, the reason I got into the hobby. Sent the wife to buy goldfish for the kids tank and they returned with 3 koi lol
A few months later after a bit of research I was out digging my first pond hahaha.Built not bought!

Thanks tom, He’s an old boy the ghosty to be fair had him from about 2 inch, same as my mirror, he never really grew like my mirror and stayed sleek but still love him. The chag is getting there to be fair, probably looks bigger than it is though, think shes close to 70cm but I can’t confirm that as I’ve not had her out for well over a year now. Got my 2 week off coming up and thought about a quick whip out of a few of them just to see what they are sitting at. Couple of the others are slowly getting up there too, no jumbos in mine at the moment though really ha ha
Due to illness and operations last year it was a bit if a missed year for me with the pond, some of the koi could have had a really good growing year with the weather we had but i just couldn’t run the pond maxed out as wasn’t able bodied enough to keep on top physically. Shame like because this years looking like a wash out so i missed out massively there.

I know what you mean about the weather though as this time last year it was really hot and the grass was just like straw.

Annoyingly we are only about a week away from the longest day and it only seems to be a little while ago it was Christmas
Is it just me or has the EU made the year shorter? Lol

decided to empty my grow on and QT. got 3 fish in there. because i have just ordered ten 4 to 5 inch mix. I asked if they could to throw in a gin rin chag. and a doitsu chag.
the doitsu chag in my pond grew big pretty quickly that's in my pond from my grow on. right greedy git. about 14 inch and very plumpish. its only 14 months old.
also it is my 4 year old grandsons fish. he calls it his dinosaur fish haha. so I need a back up in case anything should happen to that god forbid. he has to have a dinosaur fish.
reason why I emptied the tank. so I could get rid of the bottom drain dome. and fit a grating over the drain. as I lost a few fish down the drain and they ended up in the filters.
so now that's in and sealed I can buy small fish again. I had to start buying at 8 inch so they did nt go down the drain. and I think its more fun from 4 inch. plus its cheaper.
