John just from my own experience mate, dont bother with the aqua source food, especially not the hi growth anyway. The hi growth browned/tinged/trashed my water up the worst of any food ive tried. The basic feeds was ok though but hi growth will definitely never go back in my pond, the fish didnt really take to it either. Just my opinion though and feel free to give it a go.

Thats a bummer working xmas day mate. Our lass is working xmas day as well. Cafe.
My temps are 7.8c
Normally there on the bottom now.
But just took this photo.
I am well chuffed.
I have a couple of gaps in the cover to let gas out. So i reckon if i seal that it would probably be 8c upwards.

Thanks Lee,was going to go for the Aquasource from Swell who are doing a good price at the moment then i remembered you tried it once so found your thread and it changed my mind. But for thr same price i got 15kg from q/k as opposed to 10kg of a/source.
Good to hear your good Lee and on light duties take it easy mate.
Your cover is doing well Fred,my pond is 7deg and they have just gone down now, grow on at 18.5 and growing good.

Do the grandkids visit Father Christmas Fred ? I can remember years ago my friend had Noddy visit for her daughters
birthday, knock at the door and there stood Noddy…….the kids screamed, I screamed, I think everybody screamed and
we legged it up the corridor, managed to push the kids out of the way, ''children first '' yeah right, never seen Noddy looking
so scary in my life, effected me for years lol.

what a day i have had with my draco drum. problem.
i heard my drum sewage draining away in the sink under my conservatory window. i listened. then thought to myself that is continuous
that was at 0700an this morning. went to investicate it.
when i looked at the draco console on the wall. it was cleaning then stopping for about 10 seconds then started up again.
so i thought to myself. either the water sensor. or the water level with pond skimmer. i also noticed the water was higher then normal in my nexus 320 so got the pressure washer out and cleaned the mesh screens. was not that.
so i pushed the sensor up and down and this did nothing. still kept going on and off as stated above.
so i lowered and raised the draco drum up and down over about 4 hours. looked at the drum holding handles and thought to myself. they look as though they have dropped a fraction.
there held with 2 bolts next to each other. so got my drill out and drilled a top hole in the top of the handle lugs. that hold the drum four in total. so this will now stop the handles moving if the nuts decide to loosen.
turned it all back on. and still it was turning on and off. its now 1530pm. this was doing my head in. so I am now thinking the sensor is knackered.
I am now scratching my bald napper. just as I was bout to walk away I turned my skimmer off. and UV. LOW AND BEHOLD. it started to work as normal
I left it for a quarter of an hour. perfect. started it back up again and it was knackerd again. so kept turning skimmer line on and off plus uv. and same. I then turned my uv off and left the skimmer running.
and everything was fine. so it turned out it runs good again with my uv off. as soon as I turn the uv back on again its knackard again. so it turns out its my uv after all that
but what I cannot get my head around . is its a uv on my skimmer line and not from my nexus. plus its got its own sockets. as has the nexus. GREMLINS or what. so now I have left the skimmer uv off. as I have a nexus ea 55 watt uv still running. and everthing is running great again. with that uv on skimmer turned off. had my son who is a electrician . check everything and everything with uv and sockets are great. so still cannot understand it.

Morning Fred, your an early bird this am
Trying to get my head round your problem, let me see if i have your system right Fred.
Bottom drain to nexus through Draco into bio then pumped through a uv to return, think you said you had two uv?
Skimmer to pump [or have you a seive first] to faulty uv to return?
Anne is a case, makes me laugh every time she comes on here.
Correct me where i am wrong on above Fred.John

Running heater at low temp?
Covering the pond with polycarb should be enough to stop water temps dipping below 6C for the most...
