I have thought about getting a dog but would be an issue with our two cats plus the girlfriend doesn't get on with dogs specially things like Staffies etc. I don't know if I'd have time to walk it either as my work is very up and down at the moment.

morning john. I am feeding
queni premium growth food. they all like it. some have grown large and some average. in my 2 winter seasons. probably down to the genes of the koi. but I will say this. this summer in the main pond
that's the best growth I have had. using the premium growth for the first time this year. as I used to give them jap mix.

Nice one john. Yes mate all is good.
Bathroom tiled units are in. Just needs grouting now. Sink and bath all plumbed in. Still to do
Just a mirror to put up. Skirting boards to put in. Alcatrive door frame to put up and new door. Then thats the bathroom completed.
So i have been very busy. Had to get
Bay window roof redone.
I ended up getting it fiber glassed. Differant stuff to ponds fiber glassing. Not fish friendly. You can put this stuff on in colder and wetter weather.
One of my lads mates got a roofing
Buisness. He came and did it at half price.
Nice smart finish
Take care fred

Nice one john. Its all good food from there mate. I miss my peaches and cream fish food. The shop that used to sell it. Has shut down.
And the stuff thats at the koi shops
Aint the same Stuff. Leaves it like oily.
I mix it with the queni food. And my fish love it. I have given my fish peaches and cream fish food mixed with grow on koi foods for 20 years now. They go for that first.

Have you tried a fishing tackle shop Fred as they sell bait and what is referred to as liquid attract or glug - it's a liquid that tends to be quite thick like washing up liquid or similar that you can either dip the bait into (boilies or pellets etc) or you can soak the bait in to give it that flavour. Not sure what it will do to your pond water though as in make it go a bit oily as it is designed for use in ponds and lakes etc and it will dissipate into the water as there is more there than in your pond but worth taking a look and asking a few questions maybe?
This is the sort of thing -

Most of those glugs are probably glycerol based. Make your own just by adding a flavour.
Go easy on any flavours though as fish don’t have noses or tongues like we do.
Other good flavours from fishing include
Plum
Strawberry
Garlic
Fenugreek
Chilli
Anything fishy
Anything really stinky
Basically, they’ll eat anything, they’re swimming pigs

Lol, I’m not an expert but have made a few dips and glugs in my time.
Miles cheaper but obviously not as convenient.
I have some (shop bought) crab flavoured stuff in the garage, it’s triple bagged and you dare not get it on clothes/skin as it doesn’t like to wash off. That stuff is mega pongy lol

Steady on people, what with the things under Anne's bed and now all this talk of Fred touching things up it's all getting very X rated on here at the moment lol
If I carry on reading this sort of stuff I'll have to wash my eyeballs out with soap

Running heater at low temp?
Covering the pond with polycarb should be enough to stop water temps dipping below 6C for the most...
