Hi Laura
what a cracking build! Can you tell me how or where you had the jump screens made please? i don't know if you have seen my build but it's been heavily influenced by the photos you have posted of yours!! The screens look perfect especially since I lost a fish from jumping two weeks back. Cheers!
Chris

Hi Chris, thank you.
They were from S3i group. They can make whatever size or height you want and it's in marine grade stainless steel. There are various options you could use which would be a fair bit cheaper. If you have concrete/stone copings that are easy to drill the ones that are just a post with grips for the glass in would be ideal.

Here is their website. https://www.s3i.co.uk/glass-balustrade.php
This sort of thing may be useful but would be worth calling them with some measurements. For us the cost was justified by the value we place on our koi.

Laura, excellent, thanks for the link. Do you mind telling me the height of the screens?
I'm still in two minds as to putting up a pergola and in that case I'd hang them in a similar way as you off the posts.

The glass is 400mm high. We are having some supports made as the longer ones are sagging a bit in the middle from the weight of the glass. If you can get some with extra supports that would be better especially if it will be long.
They wouldn't stop smaller koi slipping through the gap between the Windows and screens but most of my koi are 40cm+ and wouldn't fit between the gap.

Laura, thanks for the info and last question if you will and then I'll stop pestering! In terms of the pergola, it looks perfect. I presume you built it from scratch or was it made and cut for you? I'm interested how high the "roof" or top of the pergola is from ground floor and above the pond. I'm definately going to make one but I'm just struggling picturing the correct height.

My husband made it from scratch. We got 6x6" fence posts off eBay for the uprights.
Height from the terrace floor is approx 5'6" . From the garden it is approx 2m. It has a gradient on it to help the water flow off it.
The main support beams were 25ft 8"x2" and the cross beams 4"x2" to give it structural integrity.

Realised I’ve not posted the winter covers. Fitted them end of October.

Made a start on removing the cleaning pump from the drum to put it in its own tank. Still having fluke problems, think it’s due to the treatment being removed by the drum.

The heat is being kept in well by the polycarbonate. I like to be able to see them from the cameras too.

I have put from outside around whole filter shed (2.3 × 1.4m) with walls from polycarbonate (white in wooden frame) 5cm extruded styrofoam sheets - just for DEC - FEB period - incl. the roof - no heatineg needed there - enough to keep pond water at 12 dC till March. There is easy way to remove it for regular inspection of filters.
Just food for thought....
