Personally I would cement them in, it also dependant on what type of expanding foam you get, its not always water proof and degrades over time so it will eventually let water in

Thought of cementing but it would be so awkward going under the pipes as the 4ins ones are nearly on the ground.

Do a runnier mix than normal and throw it in off the trowel, that's how the brickies do it

Just had a bit of a google about expanding foam and you can use "Closed Cell" or "Fire Rated" foam but it is susceptible to rodents nibbling their way through it lol.

If the ground is damp then that's fine, if its pooling then it will make a hell of a mess, best to let it dry out first, you can add Sika 4a to your mix which will harden even under water

Finished the shower this morning and running full bore.
Dont know if you all remember my thread on the DIY shower build well I took out the 4ins spray bar and fitted a 2ins to go Inside and flush with the top working ok.
    20190406_103842.jpg20190406_103855.jpg20190406_103935.jpg20190406_103902.jpg20190406_103943.jpg20190406_104005.jpg20190406_104727.jpg20190406_110402.jpg

Plenty of pics for Fred,in the last two pics the first is a splash return which is quite noisy,so I had a curved bend and fitted it to go just below the surface.
No noise at all and I was very surprised to see the oxygen bubbles going down in the pond.
Now these are 4ins push fit so I can swivel the return up or down as I want ie out of the water or down in it,this wasnt in the plan so I am pleased.
But dont want to look at a brown pipe can it be painted black?
    If not I have a 90deg I can fit which isn't a problem.

Still got loads to do,plugs need moving, waste needs plumbing in properly as only temp and the whole place needs tidying up and the pond surround needs pressure washing.

Nice one john. Looks good mate
    Plumbing looks spot on.

So are you returning from bio tank
And drum to the shower then to pond via a y or t piece.

And how much flow is going over the shower roughly mate.

    Looks the buisness

That's it Fred, drum to bio to pump sequence 10000 to waterfall and anoxic.

And drum straight to 18000 variable to shower to pond full whack at the mo so the drum is doing its business.

If you look at pic 5 you will see after the pump to the shower under the window there is a T,that drops down to a valve with green handle, which in the winter when I only run one pump can open it to split between the shower and anoxic, or/ and under water returns.

In pic 6 you will see the sequence on the floor,in the winter when I shut that one down and valve it off, there is another valve after the bio on a T,open that and it let's the bio water go to the shower pump, you can see the T just after the orange handle valve.
So basically in winter I can draw from the bio and straight from the drum, to pump then to shower and straight to anoxic both controlled by valves.

Hope you understand all that Irish crap, but I valve everything so it is controlled.
