That was a great project john and the results look spot on.
As for the pipe, not sure if this would work, but could you run it down the wall so it looks like a drain pipe, then along the floor behind the pond and up and over into the pond hidden where the flowers are in the corner?
Kind of like a Toilet U-bend type set up, and I think once the airlocks are out of it, it should flow ok..... Could be wrong though, my mind not working properly right now, bit short on sleep.

Good idea Rs,at least I wouldn't have to crawl under the pipe when going to the back, worth thinking about.

Well this what I have done to cover the pipe, bit of left over false grass from doing the front garden, only did it roughly to see what it's like but at least its covering the pipe.
Must say I am very impressed with the return under water.
The amount of oxygen bubbles coming out is unbelievable and no noise as the waterfall is off and getting a nice circular steady flow of water.
Going to keep it like this to see what it's like in 5he summer, can turn the waterfall on with a valve if needed.
Everything done In the garage except for the q/t shower to put in place.
I want the shower in a corner at an angle but thinking of what waterproof support I could use.
Thought of maybe some square downpipe guttering as it is quite strong and needs to take a bit of weight.
What do you guys think?John

Shower support easy.use a stainless support and just put something over the top to hide it.you could sit some of the coping stones you have on pond.they should take the weight and once a flow of water comes out you wont see frame underneath.you could put some grass at either side aswel.or some "mind your own business" as once it takes hold it will hide everything...andi

Hi John. We are all moved in but I am going to buy something with a bit more land in a couple of years. So decided not to build a pond and I have my Koi in one of my holding ponds.
However due to a message from Chris I have decided to build one just last week. Footings in and blockwork starts this weekend. Nothing massive.
You have done a fantastic job on the new pond. Does the wife like it? Suppose she hardly sees you now.

Hi Dave,
So Chris gave you a bit of encouragement to build one.
Put it on here, doesn't matter what size it is we can all muck in.
What I have done is for my q/t as in a small shower with a seive on top,
And no the wife doesn't like it as in she doesn't like any fish so she still moans.
Are you doing the build yourself or getting someone in?
That plan for more land sounds good you could get that lake sooner than you think.
Hope your dads ok,still with you?John

Yes doing the majority myself, my dad is still here with me. He is doing better.
Currently in Corfu, he will be back Monday to do the brick laying.
Yes next pond at next house I would like to do a large natural pond. Become a keen gardener recently.
Do you have any Koi in the indoor set up?
Chris was blunt as ever. "So you got a promotion, no bloody time for Koi then". Was his words of motivation hahaha

Chris is an odd guy to get to know as you well know Dave, but I like him and have time for him, knows his stuff and is old time.
One thing I cant get my head around is salting the pond,as you know he does but I cant agree with it !!!
Your dad in Corfu,I am off to Zante in a couple of weeks cant wait.
Havnt got anything In the tank so am waiting till after my hols, thinking of small ones ie 6 to 8 wks old.
Love natural ponds mate,Japanese style of course with a bridge.
Keep up the gardening very rewarding hobby.
What's the promotion you got?John

Running heater at low temp?
Covering the pond with polycarb should be enough to stop water temps dipping below 6C for the most...
